This is for all you tapers and serious traders out there...

What is your favorite format for capturing those one-of-a-kind live moments?

I started out using a Sony Mini-Disc recorder with a Sony t microphone. Got really good results from it. Then I upgraded to a Creative Nomad Jukebox 3, which is in essence a portable 20 Ghz hard drive which will record into many formats. I use wav files at 44.1 khz. I still use my Sony t mic with a battery box for this unit. This unit is about the size of a cd and about 2 inches thick, so it is still handy for those secretive recordings, if you know what I mean. They dont make these anymore, unfortunately, but you can still find them on e-bay. I suppose there are better units now, but this one works great for me, and in addition to it being a recording device, it also works well when I am travelling as an mp3 player.
