Who are your favorite Rock singers? Those whose voices impressed you the most, and sang your favorite songs. Here's a few of mine: Janis Joplin Robert Plant Greg Lake Joni Mitchell Glenn Frey Joe Cocker
Eric Burdon Aretha Franklin Jimi Hendrix All the artists mentioned so far had outstanding voices. Today voices are so heavily processed they don't impress as much. Most female pop stars sound the same to me these days.
Male: Robert Plant Joe Cocker Jimi Hendrix Stevie Ray Vaugh Donald Fagan Female: Grace Slick Ann Wilson Debbie Harry Pat Benatar Chrissie Hynde
You fuckers do realise that you have created a monster - I will now spend all day thinking about adding others to those listed above.
Well!!!! I asked my partner the question and read the above to give him some ideas. Oh my. Can of worms or what? Just had a 20 minute lecture on why some of these cannot be classed as rock singers, why some of these cannot sing well but fronted very successful bands and why such loose interpretations of original question are allowed. Arghhhhhh Fucking beam me up
In no particular order: Janis Joplin Van Morrison Eric Burdon Greg Lake Roy Orbison Grace Slick Jerry Lee Lewis John Fogerty Bob Dylan Jim Morrison John Lennon Brenda Lee Judith Durham Mary Travers
So many people always said; Neil Young could not sing. Same of Bob Dylan, I would take their bank roll.
I agree that their voices are harsh and not up there with the others. Nevertheless, I am a big Neil fan.
Just to keep thread going. I know Joan Baez is more folk music, but after hearing Diamond and Rust on the radio, I had to mention her name.
