Ok this is not easy for me to do, I am going to put my favorite genres in order. 1.House 2.Rap 3.Hard Rock 4.dubstep 5.Trance/electronica
1. Metal/rock like Godsmack and Stone Temple Pilots and more. 2. hip hop/rap like 2pac and Eminem and more.
1) Rock/Metal (Specifically Classic Rock) 2) Trance/Electronica (Specifically Psytrance/Psybient) 3) Techno/Dance (specifically Big beat/breaks) 4) Blues 5) Reggae I like most the poll except i'm not quite sure why dubstep got lumped in with house.
Yeah sorry about that, kinda off now that I think of it. House is my favorite genre and I just thought dubstep was similar.
1.Rock/metal (definitely classic rock like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and hard rock/metal like Tool, APC, Them Crooked Vultures) 2.Electronica 3.New Age/relaxation music
I had to go with Rock since that's generally where the bands I enjoy get stuck; but lately I've been getting more and more into ambient, trace, triphop, and the like.
Its been changing and Jazz has been the best so far. lol Iam surprised Ravi Shankar wasnt in a class of his own.
1. Classic Rock like Led Zeppelin 2. Psychedelic Rock like Hendrix 3. Arena Rock like Oasis 4. Reggae like Steel Pulse or Peter Tosh 5. Classic R&B like the Temptations
house and dubstep don't exactly go hand in hand.... I love House, was raised on it pretty much... but I have never liked or had any appreciation for this dupstep movement as of late.
I made that observation on the first page and I agree with everything you said after that as well, except i wasn't raised on house.
Uhh, I like a lot on that list 1. Progressive/Progressive Metal (Opeth, Tool, Porcupine Tree etc) 2. Goth Punk/Punk (The Misfits, old AFI, Thought Riot, Rancid) 3. Psychobilly (Tiger Army, Nekromantix, Zombie Ghost Train) 4. Alternative Indie (Minus The Bear, Placebo, My Vitriol) 5. Art Rock (Dredg, for example) 6. Electronic/Electo rock (IAMX, Fischerspooner and definitely VNV Nation) 7. Trip hop, with my favourite band being the Sneaker Pimps 8. And I love Black Metal, with an notable example being Dimmu Borgir, or Behemoth. I love loads of different types of music, so the list felt limited- however as you can see rock is what I listen to for the most part so I went with that.
