When I was 12 I saw Iron Maiden. I don't really listen to them anymore. Grew out of heavy metal. But it was a kick ass show.

I would probably go with Rage Against the Machine, Oakland arena 1999, with many others right behind them. There was just a feeling at that show which I've never experienced at any other show. It felt like the building was just going to collapse any minute and this was off adrenaline for the majority of people. Not to many drunk or stoned that I saw. Their stage presence and execution was unbelievable.

and the most fun i've had at a show was the butthole surfers at the NOLA house of blues for ben's birthday last year. i'm not even a fan of them but i was mostly sober and danced the whole time. it was the shit

most of my favourite musicians have either stopped touring or succumbed to old age (ie. should have stopped touring)

ScionFest last year in Atlanta. Saw Pig Destroyer, Converge, and Neurosis is one day. Too tired to stay for Mastodon, but it was fun and we brought blunts in.

the mars volta @ the electric factory in '09. i was right on the rail between cedric and omar, they fucking killed it, and i got the setlist. FTW.

ironic i see this thread because i just saw coheed and cambria with circa survive last night. both were good, especially co&ca, but the mars volta just takes the fucking cake. anthony green is a psycho, pretty much the only thing circa had going for them IMO. didn't enjoy the actual music too much, probably because i was too busy trying not to get the shit kicked out of me

No possible way could I choose a favourite, every one, across very genre of music has had its special memories. System of a down was the first band I saw and that was fucking mental. Metallicas 20th anniversary for Master of Puppets was a blinder too. All of Electric Picnic was by far the most fun Ive ever had, only bands I actually saw there was Wiggle, Beardyman, Chris Cunningham (most fucked thing Ive experienced), I think I saw Florence and the machine but not 100% sure about that. Spent most of my time there either at Neutronix or wandering around fucked off my tree.

I saw Anthrax open up for Judas Priest at riverbend in cincinatti a couple years ago. That was an amazing show. Joey belladonna took the stage unexpectedly. We thought It was gonna be John Bush.
