Why do so many people favor house pets over farm animals or wild animals. All animals are the same. If I were to tell people I eat dog they would freak out but go home and eat chicken. It's stupid. Imagine animals had more power than us and they decided "we'll kill the blacks and asians but the whites and Latinos are just too cute. It basically racism. I'm a vegetarian and this really pisses me off. I hate hypocrites!
Dogs have been human companions for centuries; hunting, scouting and even fighting in war. I think we have just developed a feeling towards them as a part of the family. Dogs are very smart, i can't train a chicken like i can a dog, because of this i think we develop a different relationship with them. I grew up raising chickens so we could eat fresh eggs, chickens are a dumb fucking animal and i would never favor them as a house pet. This goes for more than just chickens. Cats play a role too. http://iweb.tntech.edu/jneapolitan/egypt.html
I'd happily have a pet cow, but the chances of me being able to look after it properly as less than if I have a rabbit. I can keep a rabbit in my garden, a cow is pushing it..
I'm not talking about owning a cow. I don't even believe in "owning" an animal unless your helping them recover from something.
Yes but many animals can be domesticated. House pets are wild until domesticated. I'm not saying you should go domesticate a koala just don't view any animal more important from another.I'm not sure if I worded that the way I wanted it to sound.
Animals aren't all the same. We are animals who just happen to be at the top of the food chain, so we can be as picky as we like when circumstances permit. When they don't people won't discriminate at all, and will resort to eating dogs, cats, rats, mice, etc, etc.
You guys don't even get what I'm saying.I'm not saying you should own a wild animal. I'm not saying you should eat dogs. You should'nt have come up with the thought that I think you can and should domesticate a tiger. I said "many" animals can be domesticated not all. Learn how to read thoroughly
I was a vegetarian for three years, so you can take your self-righteous rant and shove it right up your ass. Pushing your beliefs on others will not help your cause and will turn others away from it. You are doing your part by not eating meat, so step back for a second and let other people make their own decisions. I can't believe how often it is that a person stops eating meat and then decides they can tell the world how to live their lives. Take this as a life lesson, people don't like being told what to do and often will do the complete opposite when pushed. Well...until you stroll off into the wild. When a bear comes your way and you've no weapons, you are no longer at the top of your food chain.
I'm not forcing it on anyone I'm just sharing my views. I'm not talking about wild animals that aren't capable of being domesticated. I may have said that but I take it back. I'm talking about pigs and general farm animals. They shouldn't be treated like shit, there are not enough laws protecting them from inhumane treatment. I'm not asking you to buy a pig or a cow. But have alittle more respect for them.
Would it be wrong to own pigs if they lived in a great environment, had all the sunlight they wanted, had cold mud to keep cool in, and were fed a healthy amount of food only to be killed in under a year for my own personal food?
I think that would be the best way kill to them but that is rarely done. Most of our meat is from factory farming.
