Sadly, that would leave not voting to be the only sensible option, which still wouldn't change anything.
The problem with home schooling is that many people don’t have the time, wide knowledge, aptitude or financial resources to do it in any reasonable way. Some here might feel they do have such resources, time, wide knowledge and aptitude for it and that's great. But what about those that are not as rich as you seem to feel you are in wealth, time and knowledge? What happens to the children of those people that cannot afford not to take the time off from working, or don’t have the great and wide knowledge and education you feel you have, or cannot afford the educational tools that you can? I’ve heard many argue that home educated kids are ‘smarter’ or ‘better educated’. The problem with that is that it can be subjective, how is it decided and by whom? The ability to give full time one to one teaching can give great results meaning a child can score greater than others in set exams, but is that a rounded education. I find this ‘news’ extremely dodgy but I’d also point out that children should be given multiple viewpoints not just those that their parents agree with. It has been noted that many religious fundamentalists and other extremists like home schooling because it means they can indoctrinate their children in their beliefs. Many such children can go on to score well in exams but they are also likely to grow up believing a supernatural sky god literally created the world in six days or that white people are naturally superior to other races.
Not voting only lets the assholes elect the government. Half of this country is letting them do just that.
The assholes are electing the asshats. If everyone voted for the asshats instead of just assholes what difference do you think would be made?
Right, like you pointed out it's only half the country. But keep at it it and maybe you'll eventually make it 100%.
