I'm looking into doing a fast at some point in the near future. I don't know if it will be a water fast or a juice fast, though I'm leaning towards doing a water fast, mainly because I don't have a juicer (unless a blender and some sort of strainer would work). I hoped to get some information about fasting from you guys, if you know any good websites that have guidelines and such. Also, a coworker is going to give me the name of a detox program, with the pills and such. Is it bad to do these in conjunction with a fast?
I'd do one then the other. Personally, I'd fast second on either juice or water, because the herbal and clay treatments really only START the process. as for using a blender, that works for "whole juices" (think smoothies) A citrus juicer can be found at dollar stores, and good manual ones (not the lever sort, but the slice and twist sort) are really cheap. I'd suggest one simply because the master cleanse lemonade is more effective than simply water. Which packaged detox are you looking at?
Thanks, I did decide to do the herbal thing first, then probably a lemon cleanse. I might do a one day fast now and then, but not a real one until after the herbal thing, which is made by Nature's Secret. A coworker gave it to me, he wasn't going to be able to use it before it expired since he just did it, so it was free But I really do feel that I want to do a fast. The Lemon Cleanse seems to be the best idea I've seen so far, for a first fast.
I'm doing both because the detox pills I was given was free, and maybe it will make the fast easier on my body when I do it...less stuff to clean. And yes, I was going to do the master cleanse; that's what I meant to say.
I have the Zand version and the advantage of doing both is that both give a different result. A fast also hits spiritual highs, something I personally don't get from herbal detox. That is much more physical.
Yeah, i don't know if it's connected but I was very angry/having a bad day yesterday, day 2 of my cleanse. I'm usually very mellow, so it was odd, but having to work on the first REALLY nice day, only to be bitched out by a few customers probably didn't help. But spirituality is mainly why I want to do a fast. Health is of course part of my ideas on spirituality, but that's not really the main cause. Or perhaps it's a parallel cause.
