I'm pretty sure fasting is not a good idea if you have any serious health issue that is effected with food.

But then again I don't ever really think fasting is a good idea. If you really want to do it I would research the hell out of it first.

Fasting and any type diabetes is just stupid. I have had friends who had to be rushed to the hospital due to their type 1 or type 2 diabetes after fasting for only a day for Yom Kippur. Just don't risk your body like that.

a type ONE diabetic should never, ever fast

Type 2 is a different story. I imagine with tight controls a short fast could be achieved, juggling with tablets and whatever. But totally not worth it imo, even if i was a type 2 diabetic i wouldnt mess around

    That would be type 2
I really have faith that a light raw diet COULD seriously help most type 2 diabetics
Shame it does nothing for a type 1

I am a type 2 Insulin dependant diabetic and I fast periodically. I do a juice fast for 3 days, reduce nighttime insulin, don't need much short term during the day Monitor blood sugar, its like hitting reset. The real key is what you eat when you eat. Lots of information on www.fight-fat-over-50.com. applys to everyone not just over 50.
