This will probally sound crazy but people have been talking about getting together and forming a revolution, some have evne said they feel helpless or that they want to meet others. Well what if we all made a plan to meet in year or so to exchange ideas, form groups, kind of like another Woodstock only a bit more serious? We could share ideas, barter, get something started. I know a year from now seems like a long time but we will still have just as many problems if not more then. I say if not then when? Are we really going to do anything about or just continue to bitch about it for the rest of our lives? I'm not saying right now but within a year we all would have had plenty of time to think about it and save up to go where ever we decided to meet. Just let me know what you all think. - peace P.S. I really do mean "peace".
No,no. I'm serious. We're always talking about getting together and starting a revolution and I think it's time someone did somthing about it.
I already arranged something like this about a year or so ago but plans fell through. We were going to have it at the Rainbow Gathering.
Hmm... I wanted to go to the rainbow gathering but funds don't permit. But I figure by next year i'll have some cash. But I really do think this would be agood idea
I'm with you, gumbygurl! I want to get together. Let's make that plan! Should it be in the spring time? When the snows have just left and all the flowers and trees spread their scent along with the wind. earth begins to warm and myriads of hippies set out on a pilgrimage... I want to be there. where shall it be? How to gather all the people there? I'm serious too. What a marvellous suggestion!
Yeah. Some others made it and did a help out effort kind of thing preparing for it... we already kind of have a gathering thing regarding that... but it would be great to further organize and plan something.
I actually think it would be best at the beginning of summer '06 Sping break. I think a good place would be in the rocky mountains. I know alot of available places. I could help organize flights and send maps to those driving. I think anywhere from 5 to 8 days would be good. We could get it all organized so that it dosen't get to screwed up. I think I could get some of my local bands to play for free too.
But is it easy nowadays to cross the USA border? I have heard that the officials may turn people back if they have a certain kind of backround. Now that there is thight security.
Let's see.... food, bartering, crafts, care packages for troops, a share of talents, exchange of knowledge, ect. Whatever those going want to do. that's why I would talk to everyone and get ideas. It would have to be a group effort becuase well i'm only one person. Give me a break. P.S. We could even have a star night with telescopes just for fun.
It is true that you could get rejected it depends on that background. They're not nearly as strict when your just going on vacation as opposed to you moving there. It's also easier to enter on the west coast than the east they're a bit more lient.
I think it's a great idea, my only two cents would the that it doesn't take place on the east coast. For those of us on the west coast, that is really far to travel just to spend a week or so there, and I'd be more likely to go if it was in South Dakota or Iowa. I don't think I'd go any futher east than that. I vote for the West Coast! Especially since the rainbow gathering is going to be in the east, damn it!
sorry I didn't mean to sound aggressive or defensive, I just hope everybody dosen't just think that I'm the only who's going to throw this thing together. I posted it to get others thinking so they could help me start this up. If not enough people are interested than I'm just wasting my breathe. P.S. I only ment well
ImmortalDissident, if I take charge of this it will be on the west coast just because I'll already be doing so many arrangements it would be easier to have near my home. It would probally be right here in Utah. it has a beautiful scenery and plenty of open spaces. I live right by the mountains so I'd probally have right in the hills by my house. Open space and easy access.
