    Do Angels have souls?

I've heard it said that If a man looks at God directly he will die instantly.

If angels lived in the presence of God, where did their disobedience begin?

Why would they rebel if they were living in paradise and were witnessing God's infallibility first hand?

Are angels the same as men?

    What makes them different?

Started with Lucifer not being happy with his position. He wanted more power. Wanted to rule, by himself....and not be under another's authority. Then he spreaded his propaganda an spreaded his deceit to a few other angels and took them with him.

    Where did his greed begin?

Did he just wake up one day and decided that he might be able to overthrow the "alpha and omega"?

Or did God plant a seed in his head to start the ball rolling...

    God didn't start anything :p

    Lucifer's own greed did.

I've heard it said that the plan of salvation was set in place before the begining of time.

There would be no need for salvation without a fall...

    Why did he become greedy?

    Why Lucifer?

    Who tempted the devil?

God doesn't force things. He just knows what will happen, and plans accordingly.

As for angels, they arn't perfect beings. Lucifer had a very high position in heaven, but it wasn't "good" enough for him. I believe he was in charge of the music of heaven, as well.

It's a lot like online clans. Recruits and normal members don't really worry too much about rank...because they don't expect much. They are just...members. However, officers bicker and complain and go power hungry for a position greater than they already have.

Same concept. As for why he got greedy? Looks like the natural side got to him. Who knows?

Was there an angelic original sin that resulted in such a weakness in such a trusted individual as Lucifer?

Why would God give him such authority if he knew what Lucifer would do with it?

Who knows? Perhaps he wanted true free will, even if he knew they'd fail...they had that choice.

that's probably the best answer. why does anyone sin? because they have the free will to do so. lucifer wanted to overthrow god himself because he was selfish and unworthy of his grace. so god banished him.

then that begs a question or two as regards choice.

we're all victims of choice. of that there is no doubt. but is there really a choice? yes we have two possibilities A&B but if we are to be punished for A is that really a choice? or a mere shadow of choice? yes free will allows us to choose but if we are faced with terrible consequence and it being in our nature to the majority to shy away from circumstances that could jeoperdise our own safety, was he really offering free will at all? or just trying to keep us happy?

maybe that's why lucifer rebelled...because he knew free will was a lie and tried to oppose god for it and prove himself more rightous.

    then again...i wouldn't think so.

excuse my rant...it was a random thought....

    where was i?

    ah yes....i agree with #include

You have free will to go kill someone, but it still means you're going to jail. ;)

But overall, yes..that person had free will. That doesn't take away the consequences.
