I'd run for the hills, and the trees and mother nature's warm embrace...screw people, get back to the basics and find your own peace!
i'm not telling you to become a loner bushman but rather go reflect in a calm and serene place... change your perception, change the outcome!
MaryJBlaze is absolutely right though. Nature and the natural way of things never lies, nor intentionally deceives. It's very hard in our society today to distance oneself from hypocrites and well to be blunt assholes. Everyone is so concerned with "fake" materials such as T.V.s, ipods, phones, cars and the like. I use the word "fake", despite the fact that they actually exist, because material things (especially money) do not define who a person is. Unfortunately many people (mainly the hypocrites you speak of) feel as though they do. Rather than showing others and them self who they are through acts they do it through objects of no sentimental significance (not everyone). So, if you want advice on how to distance yourself from these people the answer is don't be/become one yourself. If you show others what it is like to put stock in things that really matter (ie Shelter, food, love, feelings, people etc...) then perhaps through your example they will change for the better. Just try to avoid the "self-richeous" path, as vanity will make you no different than those lifestyles you claim are "hypocritical".
because if you are constantly dwelling on how fake people always are, you're constantly attracting them to you....try focusing on the good and real people, and eventually you'll be surrounded by them....good ol' law of attraction....that, And you're in highschool thats always a fucked up time in life, people are still figuring out who they are and how and where they fit in....in a few years you won't even know1/8 of those people any more
Oh-o.....I suppose I'm not a "old hippy", perhaps a "hippy" by societal standards, but I'm only 19, close to your age though. Listen to MJBlaze though, you can never focus on the negatives in life unless it is your goal to turn them in to positives. In order to do so you must first become positive yourself. There's no harm in pointing out the negatives, but dwelling on them will never get you anywhere.
