Alright i know this isnt about dreads at all but idk who im sopose to ask. Im gettin booted outta the parentals house in acouple months. My job pays about 9 dollars an hour... how the hell am i sopose to pay for all my shit with that kinda cash?? im starting a farm job in acouple weeks which is another 9 dollars an hour, but 80 hrs a week is about 720 which is rediculous to work. it'd be enough to live on but i doubt i could work that much for very long... im really not sure what to do, but i dont wanna be homeless. i think im just rambling, im not looking for sympath just maybe some ideas on what to do... average rent for 1 bedroom app is 500-600 a month. plus a SHIT TON of student loans. Maybe im over doing the math. I know you guys on here are real nice, an always here to talk to anyone that needs it.
average rent for 1 minth is less then you make in 1 week that leaves 3 weeks wortyh to be applied to other things electreic phone fiood combined is less then rent.. that meand 1/2 the 80 hours u work are goiung to..what..entertainment? weed? ofcourse factering in a canr adds a good bit and the student loans but the fact is you'r making plenty to live on if u just adjust how u loive tight now your living free where the hells your moiney going/ your wasting it on something arent you? i make 620 a month..sure my rents low but i live on 1/4 what your calling not enough instesd of an apartment, rent a room in a house a comunal type thing..average rent 200 all other expences shatred do u go out drinking and blow 50-100 a night on booze? do u concidr it worth it to spend 200 to see a band? you see where im going with this/ its not hpow much u make thats the issue its how much you waste..
Youd actualy be surprised how long you can work 80 hours a week. Do you not get room and board with this farming job, especially considering the hours your working.
farming jobs that pay 9 an hour aint bad..ive had farminmg jobs that paid way way wauy less and were hard as hell to escape from
Somehow, someway, if you want a roof over your head, it'll work out. I made barely over minimum wage (which was $5.15) here in Ohio when I got kicked out of my house a month before I graduated high school. I spent 1 month with a friend's family until I graduated and then went to NYC for a week. When I got back, I found a roommate and an apartment. We lived in some upscale apartment complex in the suburbs of Dayton for a while. I did have to take up working 2 full time jobs for about 2-3 months, but that ended quickly. I was able to afford pot and a prepaid phone. No cable, no pets, all my clothes came from the thrift store, I ate *free* food from work. I got by and to be honest, that was one of the most carefree and happy times of my life. After spending several years with roommates, I was able to get a 1-bedroom place of my own from sticking with my one job for 5 years and making mad money. My apartment in the burbs was only 385 a month. 500-600 is insane! Just don't freak out. Worrying gets you nothing besides tightness in the chest. You'll never be homeless or without enough money as long as you truly don't want to be.
exactly walmart sells tents for 25$ whats a tent but a hiome u can todsss on your back nit saying u gotta live in a tent just sayin that theres always options no matter how bad it gets
lol alright guys... hopefully i wont have to work 80hrs a week. I got student loans to pay back which is 200 bucks a month. Prolly just over reacting. the thing im most worryed bout is getting ride of my dreads here in ohio(atlest where i am) they arnt accepted very well
thanks for talking with me bout this. You guys truely are a help. Dreadie people seem nice all the time lol.
I really doubt you'll have to work 80 hours a week. If you really want to make sure you can survive 'comfortably' with your income, look up FIDO's budget planner on google. I know planning is the adult/society thing to do, but it can help tremendously. I'm dready in Ohio as well and I seem to be coming along okay with other people. It may help, though, that I'm a female and a college student. If you're in one of the more religious farm areas of the state, it might be harder to garner respect with some folk who don't take kindly to outsiders or different looks. Just be positive and respectful with them; that seems to be what most people want from others. Good luck
I'm being serious here, but have you considered asking the farmer to let you stay on the land? maybe you can save up for a small trailer or even build something to live in in time for you to move in. maybe offer to lower your hourly rate if they agree? just get it in writing. just a thought.
Im sopose to get the farm job soon, milkin them cows lol. ive been looking at apartments in the wooster area of ohio... they are all like 425-475 for 1 bedroom apts. Plus shit like utilities... have no idea how much that'll cost, then car insurance 75 a month, 100 for food, 200 student loans, id like to have a my cell still which is 50... shit adds up so fast never thought growing up would be so hard. And id love to continue my psych for school.
Eh i dont support the military at all... im more of FUCK the goverment person. everyone else seems to make it okay, i guess its all about determination. Im starting to look on the brighter side, gotta make it to the top of the rope by starting on the ground and climbing up it. Im in the stage of just touching the rope.
It'll work out...just have faith! Do yo have friends or family in the area that'll give you their couch in the worst case scenario? If not, you should just bunk up with some roomates or get a studio apt. somewheres...those are never too expensive. If that doesnt work....maybe this is a calling to get the hell out of dodge? Go explore the world. You dont need much for that...just some hiking boots and a backpack...maybe a sleeping bag if you enjoy the finer things in life =]. Dont let the weight of everyday humdrum weigh you down. You'll be fine!
lol it's actually spelled "wooster", in ohio. the one in mass. is called worcester. sorry off topic. to OP: i know how you feel. This whole growing up money bills thing is hard.... I don't want to participate! Would you ever consider relocating to the midwest? I mean, more midwest than you are, like Indiana or Illinois. Rent seems to be cheaper there. When I lived in Illinois, we had a 2 bedroom house that cost $330 a month, plus utilities and water. Do you have friends who need a place to live, too? It's so much easier when you have the whole communism thing going on... and if everyone has a job.
lol thats another problem i dont really have friends... I work and i sleep dont talk to anyone. Im an outcast to my town pretty much.
i supported myself and my lover for a while, living quite well on 9 bucks an hour, 40-50 hours a week. our rent was a little less, 450 a month, but if you watch what you spend your money on you should have no problems. and if you're only making 9 bucks an hour, go for a month without working any overtime, and use the pay stubs to prove to the student loans that you need a deferment for financial hardship. then start working more hours again. that's what i did... it works out quite well!
