The French have finally taken action against the media onslaught promoting Facebook and Twitter. The French have a law against any media promoting commercial businesses on news shows. In the USA you hear the words Facebook and Twitter on nearly every broadcast. This has had the effect of hurting smaller social networks to the benefit of Facebook and Twitter, as if they were the only games in town.

I keep calling for Facebook to be made illegal due to the fact it is a CIA tool which encourages people to post up too much personal info on the web. The least the US can do is follow the French lead and get all these media stations to stop hyping Facebook. What's wrong with their own websites, eh?

It will never happen in the US. Doesn't CNN have an entire show where they discuss the day's twitter trending topics?

It just shows how much these companies have pressured corporate America to play their tune, and not anyone else's.

It's just advertising, but not in the form of commercials. I bet the networks are getting paid big bucks to promote Facebook if not Twitter.

This is my third biggest dream for the TV.

The first would be for medicinal advertising to be outlawed
The second would be for censorship to die

The fourth would be for quality programming to be on more than 4 channels (AMC, HBO, Current, Comedy Central)

Facebook and twitter are a couple, every commercial they are next to each other promoting the other. Bring one, the other will come down with it.

    And in related news.
The CIA produces information that the French media outlets were guilty of hiding Sadam's weapons of mass destruction.

It would appear that the ring leader was Dominque Strauss Khan and he was aided by Romanian spys who pretended to be ilegal immigrants living off the garbage in France's streets. Nicolas Sarkozy, the french president, defied european laws that protected their status and took the necesarry steps to deport last year.

Domique Strass Khan, who looks a lot like the character known as "Khan" as portrayed by the actor Ricardo Montalban in the 1982 Star Trek film tittled the "Wrath of Khan", is currently being held in New York on charges of forced oral sex. When we asked his victim why she just didn't just bite Mr. Khan when his penis was in her mouth. She was quoted as saying that Mr. Khan had obviously learned to use the Vulcan mind trick and besides, biting off a man's penis might harm her future chances at getting a future contract for television reality show based on the events.

There is currently no response coming from the French embassy. But the White House has responded by officially changing the name of Freedom Fries to "Facebook Fries" and are promoting the new brand of ketchup called "Twitter-Sup". A patriotic media blitz titled "Project All French News broadcasters are conspiracy theorists" is currently being planned by the head of the CIA.

Sorry I just could not resist. As I get older, I often find myself making jokes out of just how stupid things have gotten in this nation.

That's the exact first thing i thought when i saw the picture :D
Then I thought "well that was immature. Now seriously why would you want CNN's tweets when you're watching the live news broadcast?"

Your second dream would be for censorship to die..

Your first dream would be censoring certain types of advertisements..

and your third dream would be censoring the media..

    ....or did I misunderstand something?

    Nope. Not at all. :)

I could've specified censorship of creative artists; but who am I to call advertisers uncreative?

I'd vote to censor censoring -- but I'd also vote for censoring certain things I hate. I guess it depends which initiatives come to me first.

Now that's funny. It's also a very sad commentary about the state of the world. Nevertheless, it's still funny.
