    how long do you cook a potato for to make it like a jacket potato?
    and how?

    Depends on what you're using to cook it and how hot ... I usually wait an hour and then just keep sticking a fork in it until it feels done

    Stick it in the microwave for about 7 minutes

    or

    cover in foil and wack in the oven for an hour a half on 200

    Prick it with a fork

    smother in beans

    why not just wang yourself a pizza in the oven, and wile away the time your waiting for your pizza to cook by throwing the potato out of the window at passers by...

    OK thanks guys, from your advice and someones here, i have deduced thus:

    put it in the michaelwave for 5 minutes, then in the oven for 20,
    then cover it in beans and cheese and MARMITE :D :p

    15 mins in the micro is what i was told.... what do i know i always opt for over cook quorn or pizzas :S

    Yup, just bung it in the oven for an hour as it is. If it's smaller, maybe less than an hour....
