Extracting Ephedra from Mormon tea? Has anyone done an A/B?

I wanted to know if its possible to extract Ephedra from wild Mormon Tea growing wild here in the mojave desert.

Has anyone ever did an a/b extraction? what where the yeilds? how pure was the end product?

IF after and a/b extraction was to be done, would it be possible to smoke the freebase?

 

you can extract ephedrine and pseudoephedrine from wild mormon tea but not thru an a/b extraction. you either have to soak it in alcohol for several days or you can base it and steam it out but you're not likely to get a yield of more than 2% by weight. that means for every 100 grams of plant material you'll get about 2 grams of product.

 

so far i have boiled about 400 grams or more of the branches and dehydrated all the dark liquid that has boiled down, came out to about 2-3 grams of reddish brown powder, i tood 20-2mg followed by a short burst of focused energy, increase in cognitive functions and then it ended in a slight panic feeling. what is the next step i can take to produce ephedrine? i literally have access to lbs upon lbs of mormon tea plant.

 

you can't just boil it out like that if you want to get pure ephedrine/pseudoephedrine.

i dont understand the link you gave segoy25, im not a chemist or have no knowledge of that, are there laymans terms? easier instructions?

 

Writing "mescaline extraction" in google, I get a detailed video of an extraction A / B of mescaline. It works the same with Ephedra,alkaloids obtained Hcl salt form. I've always extracted in HCl salt form, but I think the free base is obtained by evaporating the solvent before mixing with acidic water, I hope I make a mistake

Still havent tried an A/B i just snort the powder after evap, gives a low/imld stimulant effect, i snorted at least 100mg-150mg of just ephedra powder and i get blinky visuals, a nice rush,minimal nasal drip, then if i smoke pot with it, it gets enhanced 10x fold even with just stress weed or mids. I havent tried to moke the powder, i dont think i will.

I cary an altoid tin of this SNIFF finley ground and it peps me thru the days. then i just go gather a bundle and make more!

I think the alkaloid content concentrated is like 5x normal, there has to be a low percentage of alkaloid content for me to get any noticeable effects. my sinus clears i can breath good, i feel lightert on my feet, most noticeable is the tunnel vision type focus it gives me.

 

yes, you should be fine.. the gymnosperm Ephedra is the plant which mormon tea dervies from anyhow.. I learned a great deal about this in a bio class i took. lovely thing..

Have you done this method before? i watched the method on neurosoup.net and am unsure of the last the last steps (evaporating on the stove and i dont understand puting it on a radiator??) your input would be much appreciated
