Never buy a EZ DUB external HD by Lite On-This thing has been trouble from day one. I paid around a hundred for it at Walmart about a year ago and the two buttons on top have never worked. One says "File and the other is Dub''-Now the drawer slides in and out at will and it just quit reading a disk. I have used it to burn alot of stuff but no more. So' I guess I got my money out of it'but now I just found a new one by Sony that looks great and the reviews say it is super fast and will burn all formats!- It sits up on it's side in a little stand or lays flat. It is silver and mirror like. It's the Sony-DRX-830U and is only 79.54 at Walmart!-Has anyone tried this one? It comes with Nero burning software-(I use Convert X to DVD-for converting and burning)-it's a good deal and it's a Sony!
Liteon doesn't make hard drives so far as I know they make optical drives, which it sounds like you are talking about. if you want a cd/dvd burner, just go to a used computer shop and pick up an internal one, it's not like they're hard to install, and computers just like internal drives better.

Lite On normally makes a decent product. They make drives for all the pro IBM stuff I've ever owned. x
Thanks Gardener-I'll check that out-I have always had good luck with Sony products-I just started using their blanks-DVD-RW and so far no coasters-As far as the burner goes-I may have just got a lemon-But' like I said-the two buttons on top for dubbing never have worked. I called them on that and they did say to mail it to them and they would fix it-That was quite while ago though-I doubt that that option is still there-I just went ahead and burned without using the buttons on top-If you go to the Walmart site you can see this Sony-It looks real nice-like a mirror finish and takes alot less room on the desk as it sits on it's side in a holder.And-people are saying it is super fast burning-now' if I can find a reliable torrent client that has reviews of the torrents like Torrenspy did(before they shut down last week)-I can start getting some files to work for me again-Seems like people are spending alot of time messing up the torrents by adding garbage.
