i get really paranoid about expiration dates, like even if something expires on the 15th of january and its 12.01 am on the 15th of january, then i won't eat it. and if the little tag on the bread that tells you the expiration date is missing then i wont eat it

    anyone else get this?

i can understand with lots of foods.. but bread?

you can reassure yourself thers nothign wrong with eating old bread unless it has mould on it, which you can see. it jsut doesnt taste good. if it feels stale, dont eat it, ive never known anyone to even read the tag on the bread unless they were bored...

oh man, expiration dates are awful, i mean for frozen things its a bit different, but if i've seen a bottle of soymilk in the fridge for awhile, if it's in about a day of the expiration date i'd throw it out, same goes with anything i eat- bread, if it's kinda old i always have to check carefully, there could be some secret mold growing in one of the holes! you cant be too sure!

well a lot of mould starts growing before the exp date. if it was past the exp date, then you would see the mould. and if its too small to see, (and id assume your toasting teh bread, caus who eats stale bread?) then you woudlnt get sick form it anyway.

I had a really bad experience with moldy bread once. I don't take any chances now. I keep all my bread in the fridge and inspect it every times before I have a slice.

yeah i do that with just about everything...even if something has been frozen and it's past the exp. date....i won't touch it. but yeah one time i was making ravioli for this family i was living with. and they had this cheese in the fridge for a long time....they told me to use it...after i put the cheese in the ravioli..i noticed tiny specks of green fuzz....i didnt' tellanyon but they asked why i wasn't eating with them....just cant' handle that kind of green.

I am really bad with expiration dates. Sometimes I will smell the food a day or two before it goes bad and convince myself that it is bad already. I know that it is fine but I still won't eat it.

I never pay attention to expiration dates. As long as there is no noticable mold on it I eat it...I haven't gotten sick yet either...

But yeah, I usually forget to look.

Expiry Dates Are Bullshit, Mouldy Cheese You Just Rub The Mould Off, Bread You Just Pick The Mould Off! I Buy Alot Of Food That Is "Out Of Date" Becasue Its So Cheap, Sometimes Free! You Can Tell If Things Like Meat Are Off, But Dry Food Like Cereal, Flour, Rice, Pasta, Biscuits Or Anything Like That, They Never Really Go Yuck, Unless They Are Like 2 Years Past The Expiry Date!

actually, on milk, the "expiration date" is really a "sell by" date... you can drink it for upto a week after the expiration date...

yeah, and i want to get a little "best if used by [the date i turn 50]" tattoo on my phallus
