In much the same vein as my previous piece, "The Reaper's Harvest", my new piece, "Exodus" makes use of an older poem of mine, and seeks to flesh it out a little. Let me know what you think....

Thats really quite amazing, i like the mix of art and poetry, because they really are so closely related, the symbolism of the pictures to the words is particulary well thought out and happens to help underline the meaning of some of the lines that seem slightly ambiguous...

basically... ITS FOOKING GREAT! heh. welldone sal.

In terms of the poems, I prefer "Children of Babylon" and "The Reaper's Harvest" to this one, I wrote this over a year ago. But alone it's fairly obscure in its meaning, so I felt it needed a bit of imagery to flesh it out....

There's a lot to be said for anarchy. Not all of it good, but it has it's merits, and in principle I don't disagree with it. As an overarching ideology, or metanarrative as those damn postmodernists would have you call it, I don't see it working unless there is a fundamental shift in human consciousness over time. That's what I hope to do with my writing, and by any means available to me. Help spread ideas that can precipitate a shift in the way we think and the way we go about doing things....

I think it's referring to weaknesses in England's back line ("no defence"). Bring back Rio Ferdinand, that's what I say.

Hehehe, it's an image I borrowed from Leon Kuhn, the footballs all have messages written on them, illustrating New Labour's misgivings, the caption reads, "New Labour, No Defence" I've decided that the image is too small to be effective as part of this poster, so I've removed it in my later version, which I've sent to Respect for them to use if they like.

As for Mr Galloway, I don't particularly agree with him on every count, but I feel his heart's in the right place, and his stance on the war is to be commended. You could wander the world for decades looking for someone who believed in exactly the same things as you do, subscribed to precisely the same ideolgies. But in that time what would you have achieved? Better to band together with people fighting for issues you care about, dispite minor differences. I will fight side by side with anyone in the anti-capitalist movement to oppose immoral wars or third world exploitation, even if the person standing next to me happens to attack animal testing scientists. I may disagree with them, but nothing would be gained by shunning them entirely. Better to take our common ground as a starting point to engage in productive dialogue....
