What kind of exercise do you do and how often? I started today with the stair stepper and bike and tomorrow is yoga. i am going to do it everyday for a half hour.
well, since i'm not on the swimming team anymore, i gotta figure out new ways to exercise...so, i'll probably swim 3 times a week for about an 1hr each. its not just gonna be lazy laps, i'm gonna do my best to make it like a college practice. then i lift weights - i have a 4 day split setup to do already from swimming so i'll just keep on doing that. and then i will add some cardio with the bike and stair master machines... so its gonna be about a 5 day workout program... ...good luck with your exercising...
i go to Norwich University. i was on the swim team 1st semester. i screwed up my GPA and now i'm on academic probation which prohibits me from swimming and any other extra-curricular activities until i get off of probation. i had a concussion right after midterms. my grades were good. could use some working on, but pretty much where i wanted them to be. but after the concussion everythign went down hill. i'm not blaming everything on the concussion, but now, in hindsight, i think i should have got my head checked more extensively after that concussion since that is my 7th confirmed concussion and i have had more that have not been checked out by a doctor.
thanks...but, now i have an incentive to get back on the team. i can retake some classes and that will boost my gpa...but until then, i'm gonna do my own workout program...
I used to do thaiboxing four or five times a week, but I haven't really done it much during these past four months. I'm consentrating on krav maga now (which is this self-defence system developed by the Israeli Army), twice a week but would love to do more. Just haven't got the time. I also go to the gym maybe twice a week, sometimes more sometimes less. And I do yoga and occasionally salsa dancing.
i dont excersize. lol. i USED to go to the gym but lately ive been so lazy. i think im gonna start doing yoga again here at home though. i have a bunch of yoga books and used to do it for a while. good luck with everything, hiro.
Yoga is great, swimming is great, I think it is best to do things that don't feel like a chore, don't feel like exercise, things that are fun like playing sports, dancing, hiking, biking, and yoga and swimming, although martial arts works really well too. I personally don't really exercise but I like to run and do yoga, and go walking and play sports. I really need to keep my weight on though.
I play football 1/2 the year and I work out every day and on 2x on tuesday and thursday. I also throw shot put for track and field and run occasionally
Run about a mile and a half every morning... sometimes more, but If I run too much, I feel like taking a nap. I hit up the gym every other day... but the gym I go to now sucks... I gotta find somewhere else to go. Thai Boxing classes 5 days a week, Jui Jitsu classes twice a week. I also play basketball as much as I can just for fun.
Cardio and weight training daily. I use to have a personal trainer who mixed things up. Sometimes we would focus on strength training, sometimes we would focus on boxing, and sometimes we would focus solely on cardio.
Active enough? So are you active enough? To benefit from the health advantages of leading a healthy lifestyle, you need to indulge in around half an hour of physical activity each day and children need to do even more exercise. The intensity of your workout is also of vital importance to establishing whether or not you are active enough. Light exercise can help you to detoxify your body whereas too much exercise can cause injury and be harmful to your health through the production of free radicals. It's easy to determine whether or not you are active enough. Respect Your Limits But too much exercise can be damaging. Fatigue, lack of glow in the skin and face, Pitta and Vata aggravation, and strain on the respiratory and cardiovascular systems result from too much exercise. Modern research confirms that too much exercise can create free radicals and damage the body. Excess free radicals have been linked to over 80% of degenerative disease as well as premature aging. According to Maharishi Ayurveda, you should not use more than 50 percent of your total capacity. And that capacity depends on daily fluctuations of energy, change of the seasons, age, and body type. This is the ayurvedic principle of balaardh -- using half your capacity and conserving the other half. Exercising beyond one's capacity can create imbalance in mind and body, and do more harm than good from the ayurvedic perspective. http://www.mapi.com/en/newsletters/newsletter01nov.html If you are exercising once a week, you are too inactive whereas if you are taking regular physical activity each day, you may be doing too much! If you spend less than ten minutes exercising when you are being physically active, you need to do more while if you spend more than half an hour a day exercising vigorously, you may be harming your body. The intensity of your levels of exercise is also highly important in establishing the extent to which you are being active. Moderate intensity levels are required to give you the optimal benefits for your health and fitness. you may need to exert yourself more in order to obtain better benefits to your overall wellbeing or you may need to take it a bit easier, whatever your health and fitness levels currently are, it is very easy to make some simple but highly effective changes to your lifestyle that can mean you are much fitter and healthier. http://www.gymuser.co.uk/weight/exercise/are-you-active-enough.htm I walk to the bus stop, walk at dinner time to get a cheese salad sandwich (no butter) and run for the bus at night (it always just near as i leave *Sigh*) I think i will continue with this way, i think you can over exersice (and i am sticking to that belief, because it means i can be a little lazy)... I am quite healthy and not fat or thin (whatever effects that might have on health ?) i smoke i drink and i burn the candles at both ends.. but what the hell .. you only live once *clutches heart* ohh the pain *collapses*. Hi Lodui, hope you have been well and all that ?? nice too see you around
Matthew 'ya fuckin' pimp, whats up? Yeah, I've been doing great, Hanging around San Antonio and so and so. What've you been up to? Good to see you too.
I guess I am confused Matt by your post. How am I too know when enough is enough and when it isn't enough?
Don't worry about too much unless you're feeling ill after exercising... Just start at a nice pace that you feel comforatable, but challenged with.
