Omg...im 25 and had it when i was in grade school. I am allergic to almost everything and am constantly itching everywhere. I get lots of bumps on my neck though...like crazy recently and its embarrassing. Today my head was/is itching like crazy...so I had my mom check it...she found some white little things, and to me they did not look like skin flakes...they look round. I take a shower more than once a day...im a clean person...but I have to wear a visor at work...and i think i have used other peoples b4...thats the only place i might have gotten it. My boyfriend has bad dandruff....so hes itching all the time too. I get rashes all over my body and found out theres such a thing as body lice.....now im paranoid...what should i do. If i do have it ill be ashamed and embarrassed to tell my boyfriend......help?!
i have had head lice before....when i worked at a private school it was going around and i wasn't spared. head lice actually prefer clean hair so if you are a clean person it doesnt matter one bit to the lice. go to the store and pick up some head lice shampoo...it will come with a lice comb (same type of thing as a flea comb) and have directions on how to wash your hair with the medicated shampoo to kill the lice. body lice i don't know about~ you may want to call your doctor on that one.
I had it in primary school as well. Just like Elle said, lice do prefer clean hair and the best thing to do would be to get the shampoo and special comb for it.
lice shampoos work good. so does infusium 23.. the conditioner makes your hair so slick the lice and their eggs can't hang on.
http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:13-oxJI-qHUJ:www.emedicinehealth.com/articles/13184-1.asp+body+lice+about&hl=en I believe body lice are commonly referred to as scabies and very different from what you are referring to. I've had both lil visitors thru kids my children have come in contact with. It's not uncommon and seems to fo around in grade school once a year. You may very well have picked them up at work. If you have them don't forget to wash your bed linens and clothing as well. I doubt you have scabies, you would be insane with the itching and they usually stay in places like waistbands or anyplace your clothing rubs on you. Make sure you rewash any second hand clothing and wait a few says before wearing too. I could have killed the kid and his parents for allowing my son to go over and play (wrestling) with their kid while they knew he had these buggers and never saying a word. As others have said, this isn't a reflection on anything you have or haven't done hygenically, its just a fact of life with living in close contact with so many other people these days. Btw...you may just have a dry scalp or even more common sometimes is, not all the shamppo or conditioner is getting rinsed out of your hair and leaving an itchy residue.
