I just came across this comic, thought I should share it with my fellow Christians! Page 1: http://cyberlightcomics.com/weirdworldofweiss/issue10/page12.html Page 2: http://cyberlightcomics.com/weirdworldofweiss/issue10/page13.html Page 3: http://cyberlightcomics.com/weirdworldofweiss/issue10/page14.html Page 4: http://cyberlightcomics.com/weirdworldofweiss/issue10/page15.html Page 5: http://cyberlightcomics.com/weirdworldofweiss/issue10/page16.html There's more to it, but I disagree with the animal rights part, it kinda disgusts me. (the person made a mistake: he claimed animals don't have a soul, which simply isn't true. They just don't have a spirit...)
Horses have flesh Horses have emotions Horses were in heaven Sounds alot like Body, Soul, and Spirit to me.
Actually, they don't have a spirit (the spirit is which connects to God). They've got a soul though (mind, will, and emotion). And, of coarse, a flesh! Isn't it BOTH, your soul and spirit that go to heaven? (while your flesh stays behind)
ryu, i dont know whaere you got these...but about the second one in partucular... look at this: http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/thermo/seclaw.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_law_of_thermodynamics -on this one there is even a little thing on evolutiona nd creationism... this is the second law of theremodynamics that i know of... EDIT: just cause these threads com up so often, and the same arguments are used on both sides [and in an attept to keep it civil as well] i think im going to get that booklet that has the arguments agiant creationism from my bio teacher...my CATHOLIC bio teacher...
She is correct Burbot, the law of entropy teaches that something unorganized cant get organized by it self.
well then...again i have egg on my face... why oh why dont they go into this in high school physics...im so glad im going into arts in university
Lol, I admire this attribute you posses. When you are wrong you admit it and when you think your right you keep on with it, some people will defend their standpoints even though their arguments are very void and irrational.
yeah, well, thanks...i like this attribute you have... to often prove me wrong...i like it very much in fact...has made me way more humble towards science and whatnot...
And just how do you know this? Have you even researched this subject at all? Because last I knew, there's been absolutely no scientific research done on anything remotely related to this.
i was in religius class and we were talking about this and my teacher was ranteing about this bull shit with the animals not haveing a soul (which they do) and she goes humans can do any thing animals can and i say "can u make string come out of ur ass" hahhaha she got angry
darnit...i was gonna say somehting else along the lins of this, but i forgot cause my sister made me get off the compuet
What about rocks/trees/animals calling out to god? *i'm arguing for the sake of arguing lol so don't take it to seriously lol*
lol, you're right, science itself is a religion with some deeply entrenthed and sometimes unreasonable dogma. Something I'm learning as I'm looking into christianity is that it's detracters are themselves unwitting members of their own religion of non-belief, as closed minded and based on fiction as they claim christianity is: I was talking recently with a friend who's intellegent, educated and ( usually) open minded about some of the various theorys surrounding the the birth of christianity and as soon as I mentioned it he was like, "Oh that fairytale!?!" It's all bullshit!!" I said, "Well, I'm not talking about the dogma, I'm talking about the history..." He interrupted me with a disgusted "Hah" and started rambleing about how there is no history, it's all a mind fuck, blah blah blah..." I tryed to point out that there's a lot of good evidence outside the gospels and that the gospels themselves can be taken as reliable on some counts at least but he started pacing around the room, shaking his head... I think it scared him. anyway I liked the article you posted, but I thought that line about "Overglorified naked apes" was out of line.
Shaking a watch in a bag is not the same as a growing organic lifeform. It's an error of thinking where the universe is viewed as a machine, including living things. There is a big difference though: machines are built from pieces, while living beings GROW. It's apples and oranges. Go watch the movie Mindwalk for a taste of what I'm talking about. The second law of thermodynamics is always misused by creationists, saying you can't get order from chaos (funny, that's what Genesis says happened). That only applies to closed systems. The earth is not a closed system, what with all the energy pouring in from the sun and rocks falling to earth. The only closed system in the universe is the universe (unless the multiverse exists), and even there, only about 4% of the universe is composed of galaxies, stars, gas nebulae, planets and other "common" matter; the rest could accurately be called chaos. A tiny amount of order in a vastness of disorder does not disprove the Second Law.
^^He gots points. If I blow a dandelion in my closet, they're all gonna fall down. They won't float at all. If I were to go outside and blow the seeds into the wind, they will be tossed and carried by it, going prettymuch anywhere but straight down. There's the energy added to the system, and what dandelions count on to proliferate.
hehe. Well, I was talking about what the Bible says ( Hello?! We're on a christian forum! ) Science doesn't state anything about souls or spirits! ^^; If you shake two protezoa together, they won't become a sponge. And I think, one of the main points is that evolution claims that one can win living creatures out of non-living matter. How does Genesis support this belief? BTW: Hi Adam! Burbot, found the site while searching for Christian Manga/comics, founds a site and clickt on one of the links, then, POOF! There's the comics site (had to look through it! )
snowflakes - out of random h2o, complex, intricate, organized shapes quartz crystals, amethysts, etc. Out of a blob of lava, inside a thunderegg, perfect geometric shapes sunflower seeds on a flower. spiralling from the center in an exact fibonacci series pattern. nautilus shell, again fibonacci series, or golden ratio spiral These exquisite things only require universal forces of nature such as gravity and heat to become organized out of disorganization.
