please check out this link, i feel that women are major contributors to pollution and waste on this planet due to the massive amounts of pads and tampons that we throw out on a daily basis. here is a way that we can cut back on that... http://www.jadeandpearl.com/sea_pearls_how.shtml
Fuck that! If god wanted us to be that environmentally obsessive, he shouldn't have invented The Curse to begin with.
it doesn't have to be all about being environtmentally obssesive. it's about looking after our bodies, pads and tampons are white because they have been bleached, they are major causes of different kinds of cancers for women. plus they cost alot of money.
I don't care. I told you, it is already a curse as it is, now your asking me to disrupt my life for The Red Bitch even more? Forget it.
Did I read that wrong or did it say "re-useable for six months or more" ummm... reusable? That's different. I know, they do. Bah, although it is certainly nice to blame your problems on. They don't let you out of gym anymore though, they got a female teacher and she makes us take it anyway. Wow, I really hate gym. Oh, but that has nothing to do with saving the planet or our wallets, so sorry. Have a nice day all of you!
im pretty sure that sea pearls could cause toxic shock syndrome because some girls aren't clean at all......most girls i know leave their tampons in for a long time....i know that's gross but they do.....if any girls are willing to try this please be very sterile in usage of these
yes, they are re-usable, it's deffinetly an idea that would take getting used to, but there are many methodes to clean them, so as long as your carefull, you'll be fine. there are other re-useable products, like hemp pads, cloth diapers etc... as far as being clean about it, that goes for pads and tampons and everything else that has to do with *down there*. underwear should be changed regularily, should be cleaned in the shower on a regular basis, things like that. girls are gonna be just as vulnerable with alternative products as they are with conventional methods.
Its a good idea for some. Just as if youar enot willing to go that far at least there are pads and tampons that are not bleeched. I get them at the whole foods store and the food co op. YOu can find all kinds of things nowdays. Also I just saw something about a new tampon that is mor biodegradable and the aplicators are flushable. Not teh best but at least its a start in a good direction. Sea sponges seem cool but I would fear getting it lost up there. And when you are in a public place leaking through your sponge what do you do just put in in a plastic baggie? ..your eather going to throw away the baggie ir wash it....seems like a lot of work.
I AM SURE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS IS GOING TO LOVE IT LOL LOL LOL Why do i feel like a pervert? haha, No offense to people, i had to get that out of my system.
don't worry kids, i'll start making dinner right after i change and wash my reusible tampon. fuck that make a real difference and vote green party. and dont you come near me with your rank bloody fingers.
lucy, if you don't want to do that, fine, i understand that it can seem grosse to some women, even though lots of women use things like diaphragms etc... but please don't be rude, just because you are not comfortable with the idea doesn't mean you have to be rude.
It does seem gross but on the other hand we are a culture that does not accept the naturalness of it all. In the way past a womens menses were considered very sacred. Some people even squated in their plants and it was deemed sacred and menstral blood was put into a bread and the tribe ate the bread as a ritual and it was a very sacred time. We don't know about these things because we are tought to fear it all. I reccomend every women read shakti woman. Don't mean to steal the thread but it does apply here. It's just that we forget or don't even know how to love our cycles.
Hahahahaha...agreed. And hahaha @ lucyinthesky Give me a fucking break...shit like that cracks me up. Yeah, I'm gonna insert a "sea pearl" or whatever the fuck it's called into my pussy and then boil it...mm hmm...(yeah right). If I have to deal with my period, the environment can deal with my pads and tampons.
Right now... I really don't love my cycle. The Red Bitch? How very true... I think I'll call her that now...
The keeper works for me. Its about $35 and can be found or ordered from any natural health food store...they even have your size since not every womans body is the same. Comes with instructions and its own carrying pouch. Easy to clean and you don't have to empty it as much as you would have to remove a tampon. Every woman should look into this. Its awesome!! http://www.thekeeper.com
i have very bad periods, i can't even explain how bad, i usually have to go to the hospital because the pain is soo bad. i know how much of a bitch it can be. but there are things that can be done, like drinking peppermint tea, heat bag on your abdomin, etc... i found a product called instead. it looks like a condom with a big plastic rim. its the same idea as the keeper. i can't use it though because i'm pretty sure i have a tilted uteris, or something like that. everytime i put it in, and stood up, it would just fall out. i don't think i would be able to use the keeper. but i do think it's an amazing invention. the sponges just sound so much more comfortable to me.
*raises hand* Is it okay if a man posts something in here? ...but, am I the only one who is mildly amused that the name The Keeper is utilized for an environmentally responsible, reuseable menstruation cup. don't get me wrong, I thinks its a great idea, but this company must have an interesting marketing department. I actually had to check it out for myself and read a couple testimonials. This was one of them: ``My boyfriend has named my Keeper `the dentata´ after the herione´s last line of personal defense in Neil Stevenson´s novel `Snow Crash.´ Thank you for a product that truly has imporved my enjoyment of life.´´ Christella okay, carry on ladies *ducks outta thread snickering*
I dont' know man... I mean, that is true that we are a culture that does not at all exalt the menstruation process as some. Maybe it's because we're not reminded constantly of the meaning, the beauty of the life giving process, but...even so, man, it's just so gross!
