who else loved this movie? i watched it not long ago a couple of times and i loved it so much, it felt so sentimental at some moments like when he remembered about being a kid and its raining and he has his bike and stuff.. i couldn't find another thread about this movie here so yah. i really like this movie.
I heard great things about this movie. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. They say the writing is superb.
shit i forgot about this thread! yeah it's such a mind trip and you get this message to hold onto every moment, like experience it right in the moment, the childhood dejavu's are my favourite.
This is definitely my pick for best movie of the 2000's. . so far. It really does have everything. An excellent script, fine acting, gorgeous cinematography, a Jon Brion score. . and lots and lots of Kate Winslet. . I just love her. Plus, anything with Elijah Wood in it gives me wood. I really thought it was interesting to see Kate Winslet play the loud overbearing one, while Jim Carrey played the sullen withdrawn character. It was so refreshing. Sm**chies! Jacob.
Great movie, and I love Kate Winslet. Jim Carrey did a great job too, weird to see him not doing a comedy. I thought the story was excellent and loved the creativity used to make it like no other. THey could've just as easily made this a bore that I'd seen a thousand times over, but they really carried it out nicely.
I'm in love with this movie. its just so gorgeous and heartbreaking. a true to life love story, imho.
I was actually searching this section for this thread, if I hadn't found it I would have created it. This film is just so brilliant. I find it hard to choose a favourite film, but this does reach the pinnacle.
Such an awesome movie. I loved Kate Winslet in it. I thought she did an amazing job, even Jim Carrey surprised me. Original.
I love this movie!!! It is in my top 3 of all time favorites... my friend said that it seemed like me and my boyfriend...me wild and my bf so tame... this is one of the top best cult movies...its beautiful and makes you think...
One of the best mindtrip movies I've seen released in a long, long time! One of those movies that also shows you more and more about it the more you rewatch it. It's also every bit as touching as it is mindblowing. A great soundtrack release for it, too! The only thing I didn't like about the soundtrack release is that some exec insisted on putting ELO's "Mr. Blue Sky" smack dab in the middle of the soundtrack when it wasn't even used in the movie! I always loved that song, but it clashes with the soundtrack as a whole! And besides, the song is much more strong when on its original album as the ending of that long medley it was originally a part of called "Concert For A Rainy Day". (That's been a weird and annoying soundtrack trend lately: taking previous hit songs and simply shoving them on to a soundtrack even if they were never featured simply because the record company wants to have a sure-fire selling point and a guarantee that a "hit" is already on the album before they release it.)
Elijah wood was such a creep in that movie! But I loved that movie, I loved the fact that they were drawn to each other even though they didn't remember each other. Ahhhh......
Jim Carrey is better than people give him credit for I think. I mean, the Truman show was equally as entertaining for me as this film was.
the truman show, though, was still Jim being a comedian. Making goofy faces, funny noises, being insane, etc. You didn't really get to see his range as an actor. In Eternal Sunshine, he doesn't do very much of that. He acts, and he's good. At first, I was shocked to see him so subdued, but I caught on real quick, and I discovered he was perfect for that role.
