I was just thinking about politics and how there are too many laws and whatnot, so I decided to check out my favorite political party, the Libertarian Party. They are for minimizing goverment and getting rid of useless laws and money-sucking programs. I figured you guys might like the article on their stance on Drugs:

If you are really serious that you want to legalize drugs, then you should vote Libertarian every chance you get.

Wow, that seemed like a sales pitch. What spurred me onto this is that I looked at my check and noticed that I pay just about the same amount of money for Medicare and Social Security as I do State and Federal Income taxes. That's money I'm never going to see again to support people that decided not to plan for retirement. It is like if you do well and have some forethought, you get punished. ugh

I was a libertarian for a while... I'm not really anymore.... I agree with them on lots of domestic policies, and I believe that we should end the war on drugs, sell off lots of foreign land, and end agriculture subsidies.

But instead of giving that money back to the taxpayers, we should use it for more social programs and scientific research.

I don't agree with some of the libertarian's platform, but that part is definitely cool. a good way is simply to register for the green party. even if you don't vote, or vote for a green candidate, the numbers of registered members will speak to the mainstream politicians.

I'd never vote for the green party, not until I hear at least one green party member who sorta understands economics.

They want to boycot oil, coal, and nuclear plants...

whops there goes 99% of the economy. Oh well, we can all sing kumbaya around a bonfire.

I'm going to slap the next person I see who says, "well ya know corporations have the same rights as a person, man." [IMG]

I am a libertarian (lower case "l"). I am not a member of the Libertarian Party -- I am an independent -- but my views are 100% libertarian. The Libertarians and Constitutionalists are really the only ones awake in this country at the moment, as far as I am concerned. Both the Democrats and the Republicans appear to be hell-bent on destroying the Constitution, hence the country.

Too bad there's not a real chance of getting a Libertarian president voted in. Repulicans and Democrats would never allow it. Bullshit country is what this is. Ruled by two bickering dictorship-like parties.

The more press the libertarian party gets, the more likely to elect them to seats in the government. I don't think being president is that important as long as they have control of everything/anything else. If you have a majority in the senate, there is a lot you can accomplish.
