I dunno about you all, but I like electronica. Experimental ambient can be cool, shifting ambient fx layering together to form a nice fluent foreground, some punchy drums, and some distorted piano melodies.

Even acid-techno or house can be cool. As long as its not so repetitive that it gets boring. If a beat repeats 4 measure, 8 times in a row with nothing else leading or shifting in the background, that catches my attention, its just music that you can dance to while your not paying attention to how annoying it can get.

both are really good trance bands.

Aphex Twin, the dude from nine inch nails. Now hes an experimental genre mixing expert. I mean when you can mix any genre and make it sounds like its own thing, you got some real talent going.

I dig that music and I dont need to be fucked up to listen to it if it's good, but it helps. Plump DJ's are a good example of what you were talking about, so is Robert Zabiela. Have you ever listened to breaks? DJ Baby Anne, DJ Icey, Kid Leow? If not you would more than likely get into their style too.

aphex twins have worked with nin a few times, remixed a few songs, they just released an album which is getting popular due to that 'rubber johnny' video.

trent reznor (nin) shouldnt really be in the same catagory as anything trance though.

My favorite artist is BT, he is very pleasant to listen and he covers differant sub-genres of EDM. To hear one of his albums dosent do it, you have to hear all of them because there all differant in my opinion.

Voodoo child is really good. I heard about them on iTunes and downloaded a few of their songs, by winning some free downloads off that pepsi cap contest a couple years ago. The album is called "Baby Monkey" by Voodoo Child. Check out this song

Strings by Voodoo Child on their album "Baby Monkey"

Strings - Starts out with a technoish beat, then adds in the background some symphony type synths, then they add in some really cool effects, I think its an arpeggiator, you just have to hear it for yourself. Very cool song structure.

Let me know if you can't find it, I might help you out ;-)
