I was at the one at Longshoremans Hall in San Francisco in 66-This was the beginning of the acid-dance hall parties in the 60s-The groups were the new Grateful Dead and a few other local bands-but beyond that eveything gets a little fuzzy for me-We were all doing something new and legal and VERY POWERFUL-The building swayed and faces were distorted and very colorful-blacklights-strobe lights-liquid projection and total controlled chaos!-lol-If some straight businessman had walked in off the streets he would have thought he was in an asylum!-hahahha-After that' there were a few more than the Be-Ins in the park and alot of other free shows and parties-Then Bill Graham and Chet Helms made these a regular thing nearly every night and charged 3 bucks to get in and -once inside-anything went-as long as you were in control and did not freak out you were fine-I never saw one fight in all the time and shows I went to-Alcohol and hard drugs came later along with trouble-
