I dont know about you guys, but I find these current/future electric cars very interesting. How do you guys feel about them? Tesla Roadster (about $100,000, 0-60 in under 4 secs) Tesla Model S (about $50,000, 4 door sedan) Zap Alias (about $35,000, 2 passenger) Aptera (about $30,000, 2 passenger, very strange looking)
damn nice they had the zap cars in the park 1 day i was on the bus thouigh so only caught a glimpse but been trying to find out more bout em but i love the 3 wheel models i'm only curius why they dont add solar recharging, even if itwont give ya 100% under heavy use..if it took off even 20-30% off recharging timeand expence it would be worth it theyre moving in thye right directions but still lil short sighted on thye possibilities do they use that breaking system that came out on that 1 hybrid that recaptujres enerygy lost from acceleration during deceleration? it seems like theres enough tech out there that if it was shared and combined wed finaly be at the point where a true pure solar car would work and cost nearly nothing to run
I'd much rather be driving a brute v8 and destroy the ozone. May aswell enjoy my time while I am here insted of pussy footing my way around in elec thang
Yeah, well we have the oil companies to thank for that. Just like we have Du Pont to thank for the global prohibition of marijuana from the 1920s and the subsequent "war on drugs". Back to the cars though.... in the early part of the 20th Century electric cars were universally faster and more reliable than their gas-guzzling cousins. It was all business, though. As usual, it came down to money. As for modern electric cars, I think Tesla are going in the right direction. However, we need a greater shift in how we actually produce electricity. Recharging your car with electricity produced from a coal burning power station wouldn't help very much. Someone had the idea of solar panels to assist recharging.... I think that's a great idea. Also, (I know this might sound dum), but you could incoorporate air scoops into the design with turbines in them. Sure, we're some way from a perpetual motion machine but if the car can regenerate small amounts of power out of it's own locomotion then it would at the very least improve efficiency and battery life. Sorry for going on and on Peace
The way I see it. I don't remeber being born... I just remeber being here, living in this world. How do I know history is real its all just an image put in my head. When I die I don't believe life will continue on. Everyone here is just images in my head. Anything I choose to do in my life will be forgotten when I pass. In saying that I will never meet anyone on this forum. You may not even be physical beings from what I know. The moral of the story is... I can drive an ozone killing car for a number of reasons 1. I like the sound 2. As the temperature and water rises the surf will improve and summers will be better 3. I am not going to live my life just so possible future generations can live a slightly better life (thats if their is a future after I die) Point 3 is a bit like christianity
Teslas are great 300 miles on a charge just cost too much 99,000$ why cant the 14,000$ ones get more than 40 miles on a charge.
Okay say if I lived my life in an enviromentally friendly way to help the future generations live a better life. I use wind enery to power my house. Public transport/riding my bicycle insted of driving yadda yadda yadda. When I pass nobody is going to remeber me for what I did. I'll still be another grain of sand on the beach. I'll live my life to the fullest rather than holding back for future generations.
Enjoy. It was more the fact you were boasting about destroying the ozone. Like it was something to be proud of. Live your life anway way you choose. Say Fuck you to future generations if you like. Just a tad dumb boasting about it.
Yeah, but does it matter if nobody remembers you? The point is that none of us have a monopoly on the planet. It's one thing living life your own way - I'm all for that - but the planet is not yours or mine to damage. Just like when I get off the bus I take my garbage with me so some other poor person doesn't have to sit in my filth.
Only people who haven't fully educated themselves will lead you to believe carbon emissions are destroying our ozone. Anyone seen the movie Who killed the electric Car? Great documentary about how the indrustry crushed the success of electric vehicles to avoid loosing profits from carbon based products. Great movie for anyone that wants to see why we don't have electric cars today.
The thing is... You can drive the piss out of any car you want....hell get a fucking V12 if you can afford the shit. This tasteless harmless chemical known as C02 is what it is, tasteless and harmless. And don't think for a second you driving that car around is making the earth's temperature arise. that notion is ridiculous. Man made climate change is nothing more than junk science fueled by economic and political agenda.
Oh, I see. Thousands of scientists are all wrong now are they? Wow...thanks for the heads up. No seriously...what makes you think that? Where is your credible information coming from? Car companies make cars...they don't give a toss what powers them. What stalled electric cars is the consumer didn't want them...and they were not better than petrol/deisel based cars. Btw, we do have eletric cars...didn't you look at the OP? Other: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...=result&cd=1&q=chrysler+electric+cars&spell=1 etc etc etc...still think you can say we don't have eletric cars?
