Mother nature gives and it's unrequited love.. because those who are unawakened to her power and truth try to control her plants that are worth nothing but respect. She has the power to annihilate ego, while the ego on this planet is what makes her plants illegal and clear cuts her forests. Ego fights against the flow of nature and it's what I think is truly destroying our world. Even while not under the influence, retreating into nature and living off the land can bring out a very spiritual "one-ness" with the world. My grandfather had an experience while on the Appalachian trail. He is a man with a huge ego and found himself in a situation in which he had visions from the spirit of the forest that saved his life. He was so in touch with nature. He hasn't been the same since, spiritually. What I'm trying to express is that we have lost so much connection to nature therefore our ego's have taken over this planet. Because when in nature we become part of the whole. We live in concrete cities, which seems surreal from an objective view. We pass by many others on the street without even an exchange of smiles. We are taught to be alone, and that's a part of ego. How I visualize ego is thinking about pavement covering the ground, it's covering up the vastness of nature under it and literally.. (civilization) The plants that have been used around the world, by shamans and shaping many unique cultures have the ability to annihilate ego and let us see into our very own existence and the multiverse. The problem is the system I was brought up in, I am forced to go against nature! We are brought up to live in one way that we are separate beings from reality, while we are all reality itself! If you are able to, there is so much to perceive and learn from around us because of psychoactive plants. The war on drugs, big pharm, religion, government and propaganda has a huge impact as we all know, unawakened people look down on them while alcohol is socially acceptable and poisons/mutes us out. We have been in a war against mother nature for all of our lives, the one thing that brought forth life and the only thing that is against her or tries to control her is human ego. We are humans and we think we are more powerful than any other life on this planet when in reality we are all the same life, perceiving itself in many ways. It's the ego that cannot handle knowing it is one with all life. love & light :daisy:
Nature will always prevail, and that is why I have hope Voyage- Yes! I wish I could've made it to burning man this year
e·go [gō, éggō] (plural e·gos) n 1. self-esteem: somebody's idea of his or her own importance or worth, usually of an appropriate level The climb left us with frostbite and bruised egos. 2. inflated opinion of self: an exaggerated sense of self-importance and a feeling of superiority to other people 3. psychoanalysis part of mind containing consciousness: in Freudian psychology, one of three main divisions of the mind, containing consciousness and memory and involved with control, planning, and conforming to reality "The poor ego has a still harder time of it; it has to serve three harsh masters, and has to do its best to reconcile the claims and demands of all three." (Sigmund Freud The Anatomy of the Mental Personality, Lecture 31 ) See also id1superego 4. philosophy self: the individual self, as distinct from the outside world and other selves [Early 19th century. < Latin , "I"] The ego is not by definition in a contest with nature but ideas of self can be less than harmonious. The ego is not without virtue but rather has learned in some instances, a bad lesson.
Thank youu for your input There are many definitions on the self so I should have been a little more clear, as everyone interprets subjectively. Ego, the opinion of self, the individual self. That the life you have is all you'll ever know so therefore it is most important. That as an individual we are separate and viewing the universe from a single point, our brain. Ego is the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious/unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity. It is that way so we are able to function in the form of a human being in this life. With the absence of ego, what we perceive is in fact perceiving us so we are just perceiving ourselves. Nature has the a power to let us see that whole picture beyond our human form, pure consciousness, there is so much of our brains to be used! Those who seek her guidance should be able to.
We live in the world that we have been given. Hence #1 as the dope posted, is to me acceptable. Unfortunately # 2 is the rub,as they say and is deleterious/damaging to all sentient beings precisely because those inflicted with #2 have now gained almost complete control. They neither care about the natural cycle of life and how we fit in it, nor any individual part of it,except that which creates inordinate advantage to themselves=the few. They disregard the almost inevitable results we see taking shape as we speak ,as if their un-natural actions can continue unabated. On an individual basis, the results of mind altering substances can and have awakened many to what you address, but is anathema to those that need us for treadmills and wars.
this world would be so much more peaceful, if we ended war against nature, and worked with it instead
What guy or what said? Who would fight me for finding virtue except those who might be jealous of it? You would find me just as likely, picking my nose.
LOL I was agreeing with what that guy thedope said back there. Now I'm not sure. ;-D While I trust you implicitly to find virtue, the 'bad' lesson you mention wants addressing. The ego, which is nothing more than self-conception, cannot destroy us or the world. We can imagine it does though. We can indulge in self-deception. The bad lesson that we've taught or been taught is really only the ego misunderstanding itself to be unhealthy.
thedope: Health is our good. There is no 'bad lesson' that we are apart from it, only misunderstanding.
It is good to be ill I suppose as we develop antibodies. Although the word good is not a synonym of the word health. There is. It was taught to me, it is still being taught and I bet it was taught to you although you seem to have shed some conditioning. I was taught that I was of no inherent value and that my actions were what made me worthy or not. I was told I was bad for one thing or another. I was told I couldn't have something for one reason or another. I was taught not to behave childishly even though I was child. I did not misunderstand, these things were disseminated as truth. We are not inherently insecure but are instructed there is good cause for fear as we might run out of the cosmetics that make our less than worthy features, beautiful. The idea of sin is taught, as though inherent.
Health is not good? Isn't 'good' a synonym for whatever we find valuable? I note you wrote once that only god is good. Tough break? You may not have misunderstood, but whoever taught you that 'lesson' did.
Health is both bon vivive and illness. Fortune is both rich and poor. Everything appears spectrally, oscillating in intensity. If your good is substantial it is also circumstantial and therefor vague in practice. The measure you give is the measure you receive. Seek first the kingdom of god, the kingdom of good, and all good will be added unto you. Give your greatest value to all things rather than evaluate things. Storms are caused by uneven heating. So the lesson taught was good?
