Ebay User Question

i have a question

is there anyone online here right now that knows ebay and paypal well?

 

I only buy on eBay these days....

 

Yeah. I shop ebay all the time and use paypal.

 

i placed an order and paid

seller did not claim payment (claimed system faults and wanted me to visit their website)

so i asked seller to cancel order since i only buy on ebay


so now order is cancelled but my paypal payment is still unclaimed and no option to cancel it so i didnt want to click "refund received" option because i didnt get one....and i didnt want to click option 2 of "i didnt pay for this item" since technically i did pay


calling them was no help i have no patience for being on hold

 

I would guess that you can go through the resolution center, online http://resolutioncenter.ebay.com/.

 

Go through the resolution centre in PayPal. Fill all that in, item numbers and transaction numbers etc. PayPal will refund you.

 

Youre not looking for a refund right? because seller didnt claim your payment.. just needing to settle that purchase on your transactions?

unclaimed payment means the transaction is not completed so it cant be disputed

yes..i need to get my money back from paypal...the seller didnt claim it so he doesnt owe me anything



order was cancelled so i guess the easiest way is to let the 30 days run out and get an auto refund (due to their 30 days unclaimed policy).....and if he claims it then ill have to dispute it

Had that happen to me once, I clicked option 2, I didn't pay for this item. They put my money back on paypal.

now i wait and see for it to update

 

I bought a skylander, found out it was the wrong one, contacted the seller and he cancelled the sale, but on my paypal it was still there, I just clicked it bc even though I had automatically paid when I originally purchased the skylander, the seller didnt claim it. so I didnt pay for that item and they put my money back on there.

 

did they wait the 30 days?

from what i see it appears waiting the 30 days is the only way to get back an unclaimed payment


or the seller could go and claim it then reverse it to make it quicker

 

another stupid thing is that as soon as i clicked "i didnt pay for this item" ebay changed the hourglass "pending" symbol to a dollar $ and marked it as paid june 10th

 

Let me see if I can find my old purchase that was canceled and see what they put on mine, I cant remember if they made it look like i paid for it on ebay or not

 

Ok,. found it. on my ebay transaction history, it looks like I purchased the item, even says 1 item sold. then on my paypal transaction history go to Activity.. It has the item - "payment-cancelled" and the amount has a line marking it out. and the money was placed back that day. it helps to click "see details on classic side " When you click on that payment for details, should say "Payment was cancelled and the money is in your paypal balance" . maybe your seller didnt cancel on their side ?

(edited so i hope it made more sense..) but in my case, the seller had to go to his paypal account and cancel it on his side.

 

it looks like my seller lost access to his paypal (which is why he didnt accept)...or his "system" as he said it is having problems ....the seller runs a store and everything should be automatic on his side so it does kind of look like his system is having problems

ive bought from them before with no problems

 

Now that Paypal and eBay are two separate concerns, I have no idea how things like this have changed. It would be buried in the user agreement somewhere. I would just call Paypal and demand my money back.

 

then you should be just fine as long as he can get access to his paypal, which he has to if he has a business so he is the one that has to call them if he cant get in. you dont need to deal with those annoying 800#s or resolution center.

 

seller claimed it overnight
