My 3rd "attempt" at a DXM trip. 1st time I took I think it was 230mg on a full stomach, nothing. Second time, the same dose on an emtpy stomach. Nothing. This time I drank a 4oz bottle that said each 5ml dose has 15mg DXM. Total of 118ML I did the math that said this dose is about 350mg DXM..... right? I can feel slightly different but definately nothing to special besides the fact my head and back is VERY itchy! There is nothing enjoyable about this. Nothing really negative either, it's just what it is. Boring. The itch is very annoying. Wish I had some weed instead to be honest. Did I do the math wrong and take a small dose or what the hell is up? Is DXM reallly just lame? I wanted to actually experience it for a while now and was excited tonight and this dose is supposed to be a 2nd plateau trip from what I have read so I am disappointed. I am 175 lbs if that matters. I took it 2 hours ago now. I'm probably just gonna beat off and go to bed, since I am bored and tired. Yay DXM woohoo.................... not.
dxm sucks dude, dxm on itself isnt that good, if u are really tryin to do DXM i would get some weed tooo, its more enjoyable, but straight DXM is fuckin wack. it just gets u kind of drunk...its retarded, id stick to SOME KUSH or HAZE if i were u
whatever tehse people think, as lame as some people think it is, it definately is not unnoticable. if the effects are working, youll feel it. so much that it gets uncomfortable for some people, which is part of why they dont like it. dont underestimate it - if youre not feeling anything then its not working. people make their judgement of disliking dxm after getting fucked up on it and feeling bad, as can occur with many 'real' drugs, of which dxm is one. and it doesnt just get you kind of drunk - it is way more psychologically intense than that from my experiences. though it is true - weed makes it wayyy better and actually enjoyable
I felt it, but it was just in no way, enjoyable. I felt slow, heavy, tired, and itchy, how is that fun? No euphoria, no visuals, just like a zombie.... I don't get what is so cool about it?
im not advocating it, but dxm is a much more powerful drug than you guys seem to think. if it didnt do anything the poster it could be him uniquely, and unless hes on antipsychotics like seroquel it is just that his brain chemistry fights against dissociatives like dxm... or hes screwing up in his dosing.. hey poster, try 600 mg.. if u dont trip balls, your immune to dxm for some reason lol..
i dont like dxm but i kind of wanna try it with weed to see what the combination of the two feels like , could anyone gimme me advice on how to do it? i dont wanna get REAL fucked up on DXM but i wanna the feelin a lil, should i just take like 200mg. and smoke a blunt?
same thing happened to my friend who is twice my weight, he got really itchy. 2nd time we did it i tripped balls and had a great time and he was like DUDE, IM NOT BEIN GAY BUT U GOTTA RUB THIS CORTAZONE ON MY BACK IM ITCHIN LIKE CRAZY. so yea u got the gay part of dxm, while some, like me, get the fun part. id advise u to NOT take an 8oz ever.
did you make sure whatever you were downing had dextromethorphan or dextromethorphan HBr and only that?
DXM, despite popular belief, is effective if used properly. If you go into it seriously expecting an acid trip and scrutinize every moment and feeling you get, you'll feel thoroughly dissapointed. If you take a proper dose with a relaxed, easygoing mindset and just let things happen, it'll hit you. It can also take a very long time to peak for some people, and often they fall asleep before that can happen.
Personally I always use 8 oz. It is important to be sure that your syrup has only DXM in it, and it is also best to get the maximum strength stuff. Many syrups have acetominophen, whcih can cause liver or kidney failure in high doses, and can kill you, many others have pseudoephedrine, which is a low potency amphetemine, and will make you itchy, twitchy, nervous, and irritable. I don't use DXM anymore, as it no longer really has a place in my life, but used to take it quite often. It is definitely hard drugs, and can give you an intense mind trip, most of the visuals are closed eye, the trip takes a long time to come on and an even longer time to fade, Personally I feel aftereffects for a few days and one particular side effect (inability to orgasm) for approx a week. with weed it can be more similar to LSD, but where LSD is personal, DXM is not, and has a more global feeling. without weed it can be cyclical, music can be intensely enjoyable or just strange, often you will get nauseous, and vomiting is not a bad idea. Nothing is really bad or good on DXM, which can lead to a comfortable numbness, or a feeling that life has lost it's intensity. That's how it works for me, for others it resembles alcohol, or just makes them sick, everyone is different. I have actually visited other planes of existence with high doses of it, but would not reccomend it as a gateway to those other plains.
There is also a brand of tablets called Zicam. 10 tablets to a box, 30 mg of DXM per tab. No other active ingredients. I prefer this heavily as that syrup can do a doosy on your stomach. DXM has only ever made me puke once, and that was when combined with a hefty amount of booze because I was stupid. It almost always makes my stomach feel a bit uneasy, but rarely anything really unpleasant. I've never tried to surpass low third plateau, and I've always had rather pleasant experiences with it.
When I extract DXM out of cough medicines I end up with about a shots worth of incredibly strong and bitter tasting Vitamin C juice. It's really nasty, but has a good 800-900mg of DXM in it. This creates a full blown dissociative experience for me. Other worlds, entire other places (and this is while I can still wander around), my vision just gets utterly retarded (but not necessarily blurry). It's really a very fun time. Although the intense nausea and projectile vomiting before the trip starts is not fun at all (probably due to adulterants). I've gotten the DXM itch only once, for about a straight 10 minutes. It BURNS like an high intensity heat lamp and itches worse then anything you've ever felt. Scratching it hurts but feels better then the pain. It's quite a weird sensation, but can easily ruin an experience if it lasts. I do Coricidin once in awhile now instead (I used to do it way too much). It produces near the same effects, a little less dissociative and a little more "messed up" feeling because of the CPM in it. Yes, I'm aware it can kill you, give you seizures and all that. The first time I tried a high dose, I was willing to take this chance, however I worked my way up from 8 pills very slowly. I usually take a box and a half (24 pills), which is a good 720mg's. I have taken 32, which is 960mgs. At that point you're just totally inside your mind. It produces a powerful trip, but doing it more then once in a few days makes me tweak out and the trip is entirely different and more "floored" feeling. Not fun. I advise against anyone taking CCC's though. They're extremely dangerous if you don't know how your body can react, and also damaging, more so than regular DXM is used a lot. DXM is fun for me, but it shouldn't be used more then once a week. Or a few times a month. Doses higher then 720mg are said to damage the brain (Onley's Lesions). I do know people who do not enjoy DXM at all. It's a matter of how your body reacts to it, and your mind.
