Does anyone know of any good FREE software I can download to transfer DVD's to my hard drive? I downloaded the AoA DVD Ripper, but the free version I downloaded only allows for ten minute snippets. If somebody could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hiya Matt. I got 'DVDXCopy' from a p2p client. it rips dvd's into avi's or mpg's as you choose, and if your dvd burner works, can copy dvd's.
DVDShrink works great (and is free). You have to search for it, because it is hard to find. If you then want to convert the .VOB files you rip into an .avi file, to watch, then get autogk, it is also free and is easy to use. Good luck
Here's a great free DVD to DivX converter: http://fairusewizard.com/lang_en/fairuse_wizard_dvd_divx_xvid_backup_tool_light_edition.html
DVD Shrink - I have used it for a few years with over a 95% suscess rate (a (very) few new DVDs take a bit more work to copy)
Shrink is one of my favorites. It does a good job of taking a commercial aluminized disc and shrinking it to fit on a writeable without a large loss in quality. It takes a little time to learn how to use it properly. .
Back when I still used Windows I swore by a little program called DVD Fab. It breaks every dvd encryption on the market (even the new Sony algorhythm) and not only can it back up a dvd9 to dvd5 (7gig to 4gig) it can also convert movies to single movie files AND scale those single movie files for use on generic portable video players and eyesore-pods and pee-s-pees. I ran this torrent through antivirus and looks safe, also comes with a pirate's eyepatch and install instructions http://www.mininova.org/tor/839489 enjoy Party on -Dharmony
