I was wondering if it is possible to connect a DVD player to a computer and be able to play DVDs. If so how would I do that and what would I need?

If you're just wanting to watch DVD's on your computer, then a DVD-ROM drive would do the trick; most CD-ROM drives come with DVD-ROM capability built-in, so pretty much any drive from Wal*Mart or such places will have what you need. ;)

You CAN hook up an external VCR, and/or DVD player to your machine. It requires either a Video card with INPUT jacks, OR a TV tuner card.
I use my tv tuner card to put my VHS movies onto DVD.
