Theres nothing wrong with Bob Marley...Jointmans music tastes never seem to travel past Rap, and thats okay. Bob Marleys music might seem like the stereotypical stoner music, and thats solely because people listen to it for the wrong reasons.

If you guys are interested in Reggae I can give you some suggestions. Theres so much more out there than Bob Marley. As great as he is, there are musicians that made better music... but due to horrendous Jamaican copyright laws they never got out of Jamaica.

Yea, Ill defiently point you in the right direction if you guys want to listen to the best and most relaxing style of music around.

    peace

Alright cool, here some great reggae artists from the late 60's to the late 70's:

    Lee Scratch Perry
    Jimmy Cliff
    Inner Circle
    Toots and the Maytals
    The Maytals
    Sly and Robbie
    Rita Marley
    Peter Tosh
    Gregory Issacs
    Desmond Dekker
    Dennis Brown

Those are some. I think everyone will like em, its hard not to when smoking pot.

Jimmy Cliff put out an excellent movie back in the 70's called The Harder They Come. Its a classic. And the soundtrack is the definitive album of reggae. Pick it up, its amazing.

I hope you guys like that music.

    Peace

im no hater, i just dont think Bob Marley is like the best music to get stoned to. Its ok but i dont know i just have been hearing so much of him lately that its gotten kind of tired. And Thrawn, you dont know anything about me man, come on, sure Rap is my favorite music, but im open to anything. SOme of my favorite non rap artists to blaze to are pink floyd(especially good with bomb ass weed), tool, any techno, three dog night, doors are ok, the who, eagles, cky, tons of shit thats not rap.

if its the beat you dig then reggae or acid jazz are great. all the beat without the negative lyrics. it just seems like rap would be such a negative buzz kill.

I love Ziggy Marley too. But Mr. Brown's a pretty dank song. I love all sorts of reggae, and I LOVE Bob Marley. You should check out Concrete Jungle, Rebel Music, Revolution, Time Will Tell, & Ride Natty Ride all of those songs are my favorites by Bob. He brings so much positive energy to my day.

Jointman I meant no offence man, just an observation my brother. I just think rap is like the opposite of what is like relax chill out music, thats all.

Time Will Tell's orriginally by Jimmy Cliff. And Ziggy Marley is very good to. All of Bob's children play music. And his wife Rita Marley was just as popular as he was back in the day. To bad she had to wreck it all by asking to exhume his body. Whatever though, reggae is great.

Naw man Bob's body belongs in Ethiopia, not Jamaica. Rita did the right thing. And she has done some amazing reggae too. Thats awesome that Time Will Tell is a Jimmy Cliff song, I love it.

what defines stoner music? "stoner music" is just the type of music you find amusing to listen to while stoned. it could even be country for that matter.

"Time Will Tell's orriginally by Jimmy Cliff." -Thrawn

It says on bobmarley.com that Bob wrote it. "Another tune with its origins in the 1976 assassination attempt. "'Bob could still show love for the guys that did the shooting,' says Rita. 'But he wanted to get the people who set them up.'" Either way its an amazing song:

JAH would never give the power to a baldhead
    Run come crucify the dread

Time alone, oh! time will tell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell
Time alone, oh! time will tell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell

Back them up, oh not the brothers
But the ones, who set them up

Time alone, oh! time will tell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell
Time alone, oh! time will tell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell

    Oh children weep no more
Oh my sycamore tree, saw the freedom tree
    Saw you settle the score
    Oh children weep no more
Weep no more, children weep no more

JAH would never give the power to a baldhead
    Run come crucify the dread

Time alone, oh! time will tell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell
Time alone, oh! time will tell
Think you're in heaven but you're living in hell

Reggae is gospel music not stoner music in the least. It's probably the most popular religious music in the world though I'm not sure about that. Def. most popular in America.
