Decided to make one thread for all of my poetry. Please put or quote the title of the one you are commenting on when/if you respond And certainly don't feel you have to read all of them, this is probably going to end up this quite large. This Poem Isn't About Lies (2-06-2009) Arrector Pili (2-6-09) The Box Poem (4-30-09) love convo (4-30-2009) we sit (5-26-07) (7-31-08) Nightlight (09-01-2009) Just a Glance (7-2010) Infinite Love (9-20-2010)
Infinite Love (9-20-2010) Life before you just doesn't seem to exist I think maybe I loved you before I knew you That your existence; out there somewhere is why I made it Through the drama and the horrors of my childhood That I had to make it; that I was destined to make it So that we could meet Even if this ends If I die; or you You are forever embedded in my soul In my molecules And as my atoms disperse back into the earth; Our love will be carried out Bit by bit: spreading across the world Maybe even the universe Forever.
Just a Glance (7-2010) I may not have eyes for only you But when my heart beats, it's beating for two And when we're out walking and my eyes glance away Take a look at my legs, and you'll see that they won't stray If my position is hard to understand Just picture us hand in hand Cause that's where my soul wants to be –Always And the other parts aren't going nowhere When my spirit's got them tethered; right here
Nightlight (9-01-2009) When I think of what you told me Bout my kissing while we sleep I finally know what to believe See, sometimes I think I don't know how I feel But you got me to blink, And trust my heart is real I know at night you often shiver Reminds me of my own psychosomatic quivers Yet, while we drift the darkness, I hold you tight Living day-dreams, leaves little for the night I think that explains the occasional fright Don't want the sunshine to end, or even take a rest But my darling, my honey, I won't leave your side And now you know I'll kiss you through the nights
(7-31-08) I don't believe in heaven But I believe in love And, honey, I think that yours May just be enough I've read a story Of a tale with no plot A mixed up photo book These pics will never be forgot: You in my arms Pick any locale There's been many There'll be much more by my rationale Your lips soft touch Another common one Probably my favorite Though I may prefer your tongue The first time I saw you That cute little wave Little did you know My soul you were to save Strolling round the lake Your arms round my waist That soft little moan And our first embrace Poetry and fondue one Vday The ultimate gift on the next Forget the kissing This is the best The way you giggle The way you squeal The way looking into your eyes Makes my heart feel And when our eyes our locked; The red tint comes to your face Your sweet voice over the phone The lonlieness you replaced And the red 'mine' writ on my hand Something we call each other a lot Something you better never forget Cause you're all I want; all I got The way you inspire me Writing this poem; this list And having so much left unsaid That could describe our bliss
we sit (5-26-07) The power of the country lies in the mindless majority Teleprompted thoughts from their media-manufactured minds TVs move your lips with their Jedi mind powers The strong minority – the masses devour Join or be ignored, the propaganda plays So we sit on our couch and watch the dark days
love convo (4-30-2009) She said “I've been in love before” I asked, Then why ain't you no more? “After we fucked I just couldn't ignore, That loud heavy wakening snore” But honey, it ain't love If you just wore him like a glove And tossed him out when you were done A friend once told me “My wife controls me But she knows what's best Really, I'm quite blessed” But she didn't let him smoke He came to my house to toke What kinda love can that be When he's only him with me? Some say love is blind Those are the projectin' kind Love just don't use the eye to see It's the mind that perceives All you need to find the right fit, Is learn to satisfy it And if your romance feels like a need You have much else to satisfy indeed
The Box Poem (4-30-09) This poem is a small box Straight sides; flat top But it only really works In this particular font. (Courier New in case you don't believe =P)
Arrector Pili (2-6-09) It used to make my hair stand up Used to make me look so tough Now all it does is give me goosebumps It all turned out to be a front When I showed my teeth Sometimes even I believed Now I can feel decay and rot Atrophy of what little protection I've got Soon it will all be gone Something's gone so very wrong 'Cause you are the one that's grown To leave me defenseless and alone It used to make my hair stand up Used to make me look so tough Now all it does is expose my fear As the predators draw near We were just a temporary mend And soon I'll be broken again Just the thought of ravenous attack And I can feel myself beginning to crack
This Poem Isn't About Lies (2-06-2009) Sometimes I can't tell fact from fiction Sometimes I can only by the friction Cause a lie is like the smooth final edit Truth; scrapped on the floor where none will take credit Everyone gets their happy ending in the finished cut It's not that they don't want to see the original; they don't have the guts Sometimes, I will be one that deceives Sometimes, so much and so well; I start to believe And I wonder if everyone does this to themselves Can't convince myself it's only the ill of mental health Inside I know this is why we bump and grind: Too busy watching the glossy happy films in our minds So, it's no anomaly that my vision is blurred Or that I have trouble distinguishing word from word “They just don't work as well as when I was young” These words mostly spoken on a muscular tongue Cause the saddest part of this perception we lose Is that our lies are a filter we choose
i think this would make a good song. actually i think all your poems have a lyrical quality about them. this is my favorite. it has a great flow and your word choice makes it very powerful and passionate.
These poems seem to be pretty good, I have not read them all but from the three I have read I would like to say "This Poem Isn't About Lies" is excellent in my opinion, great job.
"They just don't work as well as when I was young” These words mostly spoken on a muscular tongue Cause the saddest part of this perception we lose Is that our lies are a filter we choose" POW. That's a great, great ending.
This reads soooo nice and easy, I love your conversational tone and again, fantastic ending. Those two last lines are the absolute truth. Btw, great idea with keeping track of all your poems on the front page. I need to do that!
I have a particular fondness for "we sit" and "love convo". The first is quite dark and the latter, very insightful.
