Id you were to grow mushrooms and wish to dehydrate them. Could you just place like alot of salt ontop of the mushrooms and hope they well dehdydrate that way... Then just grind up the shrooms and put them in capsule (assumeing there going to be really salty...)

    Would this work?

Just leave them in a warm dry place on some kitchen roll or a tea towel...top of a boiler or on a window sill is fine. No need for salt.

waaiitt.. if sunlight destroys a lot of psilocybin, what are they doing out in the cow fields? wouldnt they be useless if the sunlight thing was the case?

Dry them somewhere, any place, but on a piece of paper or else something with holes, the liquid needs to drain.

But fuck it, if you have them fresh, WHY dry them?
    1. they taste better fresh
    2. drying destroys psilocyn I believe (as its more instable)
    3. they work fine fresh
    4. easier to eat fresh.

    I always have them fresh

But a single mushroom takes several days to grow to full size?

You simply dry them on a kitchen towel or a piece of paper. They dont have to be exposed to the sun, but the heat actually does not destroy psilocybin, otherwise you would not be able to make tea from shrooms (which is a strong as the shrooms if not more powerful because of faster absorption). I have them on a piece of cloth in a ventilated place (under a window) for a couple of days and they dont lose their potency, you can trust me on that - been doing it for years. Perhaps fresh are stronger but the difference is hardly noticeable.

yeah but though heat does not destroy psilocybin, psilocin is a much more delicate chemical.

Heat does destroy psilicobin, but not from sun. If you boil them they will lose potency. But about the drying, I just had mine on a paper towel in my bottom dresser drawer and they dried just fine.

A great fast way to dry is to use Calcium Chloride, commonly sold as a product called Damp Rid or some variation of, it has an affinity for water, if you put some in the bottom of a tupperware or other sealable container it will suck all the moisture not only from the air but the shrooms as well, just don't let them come in direct contact with it. This is the method I always use it works wonderfully, or you could be simple and just leave them out for a few days =)

How long does that take? I heard it takes awhile...

Would the fastest way to obsurb the water from the air would be to make the powder on the bottom in a zig sag fashion => _|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_|-|_ Somthing ike that... becuase there would be more surface area, the water can be absorbed faster...
