Wouldn't you hate being this guy?! He's 25 years old and was "very intoxicated" when he drove his pickup truck into a crowd of people watching the parade. Twenty-eight people were injured. They said bodies were just bouncing of the hood of the truck and he kept driving. Police say he was so out if it that they aren't even sure if he realized what he'd done. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/02/26/28-injured-after-truck-plows-into-new-orleans-parade-crowd-suspect-in-custody.html
His blood alcohol content was "nearly 3 times the legal limit". http://bigstory.ap.org/article/cdfa4be4f817479b98c6fdbd5f609054/dwi-suspected-crash-hurt-28-new-orleans-parade Neilson Rizzuto
He will never touch another work truck again and probably not a car for years if ever. I assume it was an employer's vehical.
My first time ever drinking, I learned not to drink the hard way, 13 years old..... .40 ... in a coma for three days in the hospital intensive care, stopped breathing... life support. Learned the ills of drinking. They put me in a drug addict ward for a few days til they realized I was just a stupid kid. This guy is going to learn a hard lesson, too bad he didnt learn sooner.
met a guy who told me about his experience of driving while on heroine, said he woke up facing the opposite way on the opposite side grass from the way he was going towards. he said that sobered him up pretty quick......well when the cops finally woke him up that is.
I can not fathom the horror those people must have felt as this happened. The healing for most will probably be a long painful process. Their families must also be in shock that it happened. I hope they recover and are able to resume their lives. The person who did this is criminal and irresponsible. I have no issue with drinking yourself to death but stay out of a vehicle if you do. How he can live with what he has done is beyond me.
We had the same bac .23 I'm glad I only totalled cars and not people. http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/25/us/new-orleans-mardi-gras-parade-accident/
tolerance makes a huge difference though, along with other factors. some people are wasted at .08, others can be .23 and they're still basically sober.
