Last Saturday night over 200 friends and neighbors joined together around a beautiful bonfire to celebrate nature and each other. Drummers, fire twirlers and dancers took the initiative! It is at gatherings like this that reveal the foundation of our spiritual being…peace and love. It is here that we realize and reaffirm our innate interconnectedness and celebrate who we are…not who we strive to be. YOU have the power…seize it!
It is all good but face it this is not a true action for world peace. If you want a peace in Earth you don t gather 200 people, celebrate peace,drum,smoke... I don t have anything against theese kinds of gatherings but a true action will be when we all come on the streets and protest. Don t you agree?
Please explain to me how 200 friends and neighbors celebrating life and nature together does not reflect world peace while taking to the streets in protest does. I understand your frustration but don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers. Remember the garden…you reap what you sow!
Did the World see this celebration? Did this event changed the peoples opinion? I m not against theese kinds of gatherings in fact I like them, but if you want to do something really important and big you come out to the street or somewhere where the people will see you and you do the things which will influence the public. I agree with your opinion. I m just saying if you want something big you do it.
No, two billion people either had their head up their ass, in church or were watching TV. 200 friends and neighbors joined together in cosmic bliss to celebrate nature and each other and did what the other two billion people didn't do...? I assume that you are in the majority. Give it a try!
I did it much times. I m just saying that it s okay to celebrate peace and love, and if it passes on to a next generation we will have a chance to continue what the hippies started. A purpose of hippies is celebrating love and peace, living with nature and accepting it s beauty and advantages and hippies seek to change the world through reason and by living what they belive.-this underlined part of sentence wrote Skip Stone and I belive in theese purposes. I appreciate what you did with the 200 people. Maybe I overreacted. Sorry.
a "drum in" is a public act, much like street protests, (in fact protests I've attanded tend to have a drummer cadre- I'm usually in it, swapping out with my son) a circle in a secluded space is a spiritual fueling act: and only the beginning. Both are necessary, and like the late 1960s will be a fracture in peace/ anti-war movements.
what about bringing the circle into a more public atmosphere in order to bring awareness? There are probably a few people that havent been exposed to the beauty and harmony of a circle, and bringing it out forthwith would perhaps spark an enlightenment to those that are otherwise "in the dark"? i ve been blessed to be a part of a pipe ceremony dedicated for world peace. it is a private, and most beautiful, act, but at the same time, i wish for it to be known to the people. there will be takers, and non-takers. i am optimistic that there are those who would become more in tuned to whats going on.
i would love it if i could find one to go to... i need some assurance right now and music's the only thing i have along with my hopes of a different way of life.. Peace is all i need.
Feel the pulse of your heart beat; listen to the rhythm of your breath…the melody of the mocking bird, the reverberation of the seasons. When we drum we are celebrating our innate harmonic resonance with the mystical dance of universal energies. Nothing to find… Nothing to discover… Eternity in a raindrop. Be Here Now!
You can drum all you want, but if you don't address the wrongs, or tell those that wish to conteract the damage how to do that. You're just having a gay old hippy fest in the woods.
Sounds like your past didn't work either.....try finding a drummin celebration with people who are cultivating peace and harmony in their own hearts first........
Hey guys i thought i would thorw in my opinion i live in Australia all i dream about every morning when i wake up is peace around the world who dosen't if we chose to hold drumming session which we do here as well or wether we chose to protest in the street if all done in the right way love for world peace is spread through our energies to every one love and peace starts with us i can imagine if a street were filled with 200 protesters it would make a local news screen or paper but please don't stop drumming spreading love and light is were it starts try making your self complelty peaceful you will be amazed at the change to even just one person that still a difference. I started little tiny helpful things like buying all my friends little butt bins for the smokes all of them use it so that something . Nothing can change over night teach our children to love the world and they will the children are our and our earths future.... peace.love.music
Agreed. Not that the OP's gathering didn't celebrate world peace, simply that it will not change the minds of those who did not attend, will not making non-peaceful people lean more towards peace.
I Personaly Think That World Would Be Better Without Killing Eachother, Without Wars, Without Violence.... Example: After A Big War The People In The Country Which Has Been In Fight Are Hungry, Their Homes Are Destroied... I Dont See No Good Things In War. And I Am Against Killing Animals Too!!! I Dont Understand The People Who Kill Animals... I Mean... What The Animals Did To People... They Dont Have To Kill The Animals Just Beacouse The People Are Destroing Animal Homes (forests)... Peace And Harmony Forever!!!
