Drugtest question

First post here. greetings everyone

I am a chronic pain patient and have been taking methadone and percocet togather for about 5 years for pain. Well today I went to my docter to get my monthly perscription and surprise he had me pee in a cup for drug test. Well I smoked 1 bonghit on the 1 week ago( first one in about a year ) Then I ran out of my percocets on saturday and took 1 tylenol 3 w codine from the medicine cabnet that was my sisters. I have a contract with the pain doctor and am wondering if I am screwed? Twasent a huge bonghit but it got me stoned and reminded me why I dont smoke it so that was enough for another year or so. Should I worry about this test? Another question is about the codine. Does it metabalize into the same thing that oxycodone and methadone does once in your system? That way on the test it will just show opiats which are expected to be there anyway?

Codiene breaks down into morphine, so no, it will not be the same result as percocet would. The question is how far they will test it. Chances are they wont but you never know. But 1 bong hit 7 days before a drug test after nearly a year? Well of course that depends on your body fat and metabolism rate as well as the potency of the bud you smoked. But chances are, you will pass. At least I think you will.

I am pretty stressed about it and am going on vacation for a week tommorow and this has the potential of ruining my vacation because I may worry myself right out of enjoying myself. I am taking methadone as well as percocet...mabey this methadone will confuse the test and think the codine is just methadone...? Any more thoughts on this?

whew....man.....anxiety. I cant make it without the damn pills and if I loose them because of this Im gonna be in trouble. Never ever ever will I cheat on my narcotics contract again!!!!

Methadone is it's own deal, so if it shows up as a positive for opiate (which it will) they will have to further screen it and will be able to tell exactly what it is. But since you are worried about codeine, I sort of doubt they will do a further screening since both methadone and oxycodone (your legal perscriptions) will show up, however if you are on the methadone for quitting heroin, they may only because since codeine breaks down into morphine, as does heroin, they may get suspicious. But still, I think it's unlikely.
Man I've had a close call with marijuana, oxycontin, and cocaine once all within a 4 day period before my test (which is for parole, lol so my chances of failing are much higher) and I passed with no problem at all. That doesnt mean I wasnt worried as hell before the test, and I learned my lesson not to play around like that.
But, I passed, so I dont see why you have anything to worry about. HOWEVER, anything can happen so you never know.
Just stay positive and accept your fate one way or the either, having an anxious mind prevents you from living your life, you know? Stay positive! haha

Yeah, from the scenario you describe, methinks the doc is performing a "Cover his Ass" procedure. He'll look for streets, i.e. coke, speed. A positive for weed just doesn't seem to be a big deal anymore.

 

Thanks....I am praying. Went shopping for some new clothes today. Getting ready for my vacation. Going to Coulee City Washington. Bet nobodys heard of that place before. Its on a big lake and is sunny 95 degrees. Gonna be a blast. Gonna do some walleye and bass fishing and swimming for a whole week. Visit my father and all my relatives are making the trip from around the state. :cheers2: I wont be drinking as I dont drink anymore but I will have a pepsi for ya.

You should pass fine. My pain doc also has a contract for me, and she tests me every once in a while to cover her ass, like Sam&Ella said. Your doc will likely test for meth/coke/H, but in my experience taking some codiene while you still have methadone/oxycodone in your system wont fail a casual drug test like that.

I've had a whole bunch of poppy tea (which has the morphine and codiene alkaloids in it) in my system as well as my actual prescription percocet and took a drug test for my probation and still passed fine, cause when it showed up positive for opiate use they just chalked it up to my prescription (if you take enough oxycodone in close enough proximity to a drug test you can test positive for morphine alkaloids because although oxy breaks down differently than other opiates, to my understanding it can still sometimes show up, which for your case would be good.)
