what do you think the popular drug/drugs will be in 2020? Of course pot will always be there, but i mean like in the 1960s/early 70s it was acid, late 70s it was coke, pcp, qualudes, the 80s were coke and speed the late 80s/90s were ecstacy, heroin, meth and the 2000s are prescriptions. i think that prescription drug abuse will peak in 2010 and then decline from there. then first mushrooms and later acid, ketamine, and salvia will get pretty big, but then decline, and by 2020 things will drift into a benzo/barbiturate phase.
I believe pharmaceuticals will be on the rise for a while... Then stimulants most likely. I can't see this generation turning out to be a majority who enjoys hallucinogens. I don't think most kids today are intellectual enough to be something like there was in the 60's.
I'm predicting a rise in Ecstasy use. The news lately has been calling Ecstasy "the new crack." The slang for being on Ecstasy, sadly, seems to be "thizzin". Around here I've heard a lot more about "Nexus", or 2C-B. Party drugs are hitting a wave. At least for the near future, expect a lot of arrests in the way of party drugs.
As the stress in the modern day individual rises I'm sure the drugs that help depress, repress, or stimulate will be the ones of choice, unfortunately. Insightful drugs like psychedelics are overlooked due to their propaganda based reputation, and their use for spiritual insight are way past forgotten or unknown amongst the average person who may run into it. The majority of people want guaranteed sensory satisfaction in their drugs, or at least that is what they are looking for when they take them. But you never know what the future may bring!
I forgot about X. I do think it will get quite big also, as it already is growing in popularity. I think things like that will get big for a while but I can see them declining after so many people decide they can make their own and fuck up the recipe that enough people will die.
Dude, how could you hope not? There's going to be THOUSANDS of psychedelic chemicals in the next few decades. Have you ever read any of Shulgin's work?
What I meant was, that I hope that they don't get sucked into mainstream society and become a huge drug that everyone wants to use. Psychedelics like Shulgin synthesized aren't for everyone. They should be taken carefully, and if everyone and their mother starts learning about them it will be horrible.
Whatever Drug i create..... yea thats basically my goal..... Im going to college next year and becoming a Chemist
You're going to need to be quite a good chemist before synthesizing your own chemicals. Shulgin was a master at chemistry, and I believe he had a PhD. I have read on these forums that people have gotten their bachelors and still can't make any of the 2C's, let alone creating their own. But then again, some people are more apt for it than others. So good luck and send me some samples
well I highly advise all of you kids to read Alexander Shulgin's books, then. So ahead of his time . .
Im in love lol... anyways whatever happens heroin, cocaine and cannabis will always be there no matter what, theyve been there forever n they will always be there... crazes like lsd, ecstasy, ketamine, meth, rcs, prescriptions etc come n go...
its still called cocaine, n people take it as if its cocaine, purity always varies n changes, however the substances cocaine, heroin and cannabis r always there... anyways not everyone is snorting synthetic cut cancer, im not...
Quote: "I don't think most kids today are intellectual enough to be something like there was in the 60's." (sorry i dont know how to do a quote thingy) I'm in high school and i'd say 5-15% of kids have the ability to understand/appreciate psychedelics. however, of that, 75% are brainwashed that lsd causes brain damage and makes you jump off buildings, 15% think its bad because its a 'chemical,' yet they do oxy and adderall cus they're legal, and the other 10% are pretty much me and my friends.
