Im about to get a summer job, and I'm a little worried about drug tests. Can you get in legal trouble for having drugs in your system? Or even for being high? Or is it only for posession. Let's say a cop drug tested me and found psilcoybin thc and all that. Can I get in trouble with the law?
Umm, not quite sure, if a cop tested you(which would be weird) than probably yes. I don't think businesses can do anything about it. Psilocybin isn't on standard drug tests.
Okay, here goes. (If you live in the U.S.) For a 16-year-old, I doubt most jobs will bother to drug test you; I think they really only bother for adult jobs (tests cost money you know, and for a summer job? homie please). If they for some reason do so, and you get a positive (drugs) result, they won't arrest you, you just won't get the job. Don't come in to work high, but If you were caught high at work, they would probably just fire you as a worst-case scenario. A cop usually won't just walk up to a kid and drug test them; if you were red-eyed and acting stoned, he could give you a field test. If it shows up positive, he can take you down to the station, but admit to nothing at all. The field tests can't be used as evidence in court cases, only the results from a blood-test (they just ask you pointy questions about smoking pot, just retain your right to remain silent, it's a trap, as a minor you don't have to answer any self-incriminating questions without a parent of lawyer present), and I'm not quite sure if they can just up and give you one at the station (it'd be different in every state anyway). You usually won't get prosecuted for just being high, anyway, I don't even think you can. What can happen is possible drug classes or rehab, but not usually. They usually nail you for possession; having showed up positive can result in giving the cop reasonable cause for you to be arrested, and searched (and have your house or car searched too, I believe)

What kind of drugs are you taking that your worried about. If it s pot they can test up to 30 days If its E, or acid it dosen't show up in drug tests' So don't worry Also to the other guy yes they do drug test kids for summer and part ime jobs. In fact they all almost test anymore for jobs
