So the official results of my drug test is in: negative. I PASSED AND HAVE A JOB WOOOO! Now for some backround: For 3 weeks straight I had been smoking and taking other drugs (mostly DXM trips). Then my 3 week vacation was over so I smoked 4 bowls with my cousin and a friend before we had to get back to our normal lives. So I come back home and 4 days later I get a call from a friend who I haven't seen in a long time. So I travel down to his house and we smoke 4 bowls. 11 days later I get a call from a place I applied to and they tell me to come in for an interview the next day. I knew they would drug test me so I went out and bought a home drug testing kit to make sure I was in the clear. It was hard to tell, but it looked like it came out negative. The next day I am sent to the local hospital for a drug screen and now...a week later I have tested negative. So it just goes to show you that the whole myth about it taking at least 1 month to test negative after smoking is WRONG. And what suprised me is that I am heavy (so it should stay in my system longer), and I didn't take any precautions to make sure I passed. I only drank water (which is normal for me) and worked out a little bit each day (also normal) and I passed. So I now know that I can pretty much pass a drug test after a week or two, just goes to show you it is different for everyone and not to fret about drug tests for work.
just wondering, where are you working? lol Maybe its a canada / us difference, but in all my jobs, I've never been tested, nor has anyone who I'm aware of... I'm sure it happens though, thats why I'm wondering what kind of jobs people generally get tested for...
I'm going to get tested to get a job at Target(Wal-Mart for snobs). Most chain stores in the U.S. usually test, but local shops don't.
Hmmm...not at ALL. Both my home test AND the hospital test were negative. BOTH of them. The chances of EITHER of them being wrong is VERY low, even lower for a hospital test. THC can last anywhere from 3-90 days in your system. On average is lasts 1-2 months with heavy use. It lasted less than 12 in mine...SUCKA! The lowest out of anyone I know, but I have had many friends who have passed home and hospital drug tests after 15-17 days. Oh yeah, EVERY place I applied to (20) drug tests their job applicant. Some use home tests, others send you to the hospital. I even applied for 5 locally run shops (not local chain stores, just local shops) and all 5 say they test after the interview.
Plenty of people have come in here and passed tests with two weeks. 12 days sounds about right. So I'm not that impressed. Don't get me wrong, congrats on passing, but it's nothing real special. It just goes to show once again that it all depends on YOUR body and YOUR metabolism.
I've never heard of having to get a drug test to apply to a job either, but i also live in canada....i've been to concerts where theres so many people smoking that i'll get high without smoking myself, and if i ever failed a test and not got a job because of something like that, i would be so pissed...it also makes me wonder, how are so many smokers employed if they cant pass the drug test? will they get the job anyways or do you have to keep searching for a place that doesnt require a drug test?
Oh I am! But being an EMT doesn't pay enough for my rent, so I had to move back witht he parents and out here in the middle of nowhere there are only volunteer (no pay) ambulance services. So I had to get another job. I know, I am just giving another reason why people shouldn't fret about drug tests, and giving info, most people think it takes a minimum of 1 month to pass a test.
HAHA! They don't test in Canada because they'd run out of workers, they'd be like "ok out of all our applicants, your test showed up the least positive, so we are going to hire you, you semi stoned bastard!" Also if they started testing up here in Canada, we would totally flip out any boycott companies, I mean that shit is an invasion of privacy.
yeah, I smoked on a Saturday night once and then got drug tested on a Monday morning, and I passed. I just drank a lot of water, it usually works~
