A friend of mine mentioned that dreaming in colour is caused by energies found only by traveling to other plains through the subconscious, whereas dreams in black and white are a construct of your imagination.

Now, I honestly can't think of a dream that I've ever had that wasn't in full or at least partial colour. What do you experienced dreamers think about this?

you know, i heard the same thing about dreams from my psychology teacher, but i've always had dreams in color. might just be a sign that we're all evolving as a race. funny thing is, when i questioned my teacher about it, he came up with the reply: how do you know you really dreamed in color when all it is is your mind creating the memory of the experience? he said that our memories of dreams come after the experience, and thus might not be 100% pure. when i asked him how that was any different from our everyday experience and memory of life, he just sat there and stared at me. it seemed like, in all of his career, the thought had never occured to him. in my opinion, the phenomena of dreams alone is unexplainable by science and completely magical, and experiencing them in black and white probably shows that that person isn't fully aware of what's going on in that situation. don't if any of that made sense-i'm kinda messed up right now-guess i'll know tomorrow when i'm sober.

yyyesiam2, yes this is so interesting.

We do not only dream in colours and shapes, we dream in sounds too. But then we dream in frequencies while we are just travelling with the energy.

And when we turn back from the timeless to the so called wake state we tend to separate again and make a difference (and tell ourselfes its only dreams that are magical).

But in the end, it is all about the awareness and wake state is no exception.

So dreaming in colours or not maybe does not really matter that much ... we are not bound to the meaning given to it ... the meaning is in what we make of it, and it is individual always.

As we create the dreams, we create the needs to know, to follow the greater dream of who we are in the process of becoming aware and whole inside ourselfes.

Now we create the memory of the experience at the same time as we create the experience ... yet tend to relate to the memory of it more than seeing ourselfes whole any time and maybe feel like we miss a meaning then, vaguely remembering that in dream we knew better ... as we were moving with the energy and open to our own deeper sources without being distracted by the analytical mind that just enjoys to run in its self created wheels.

But this is what we do all the time ... we are the awareness ... we are the experience always and in this we are complete and nothing is missing ... not even in plain daylight.

    Just thought food !

i dont really understand dreams, and i think it will always be a phenominon... My dreams are just events taking place mentally, but with shit mixed all around in different places, althought I dont realize it at the time. Ive heard people talk about manipulating ure dreams to do whatever u want in them, like have the best sex, be in the best enviroment, etc. Ive only told myself in a dream, and the people in my dream "Im just dreaming and can do whatever the fuck I want!" once though, but I dont know how to do it again, it was so fun, i was throwing shit around and fucking every women in the room... awsome...

For what it's worth, I don't remember ever dreaming in black and white, but some of my dreams are more vividly in color than others.

For example, I have had recurring dreams about a bar...one that doesn't exist in my waking life. I can remember a neon sign and the fact that it is blue.

What? Most dreams tend to be in color. I can get information on this to back up what I'm saying if you want.

this is a really interesting topic.well i don't actually believe that dreams transport you to different places i do believe your mind uses dreams as a way to enlighten or teach you something subconciously whether it's something simple or something complex aswell as using dreams to subconciously sort out events that take place in your concious state of mind or being.

something i find really odd is recuring dreams that play out more than once.for example i used to have a dream of falling off a cliff that would take place at the same cliff with the same events leading up to it except the later times i had the dream i was aware that that it wasn't the first time i had the dream.
