they're very pleasant and friendly, he's doing very well and i'm so glad. his wife is beautiful and pleasant, his job is awesome. i keep having these dreams, and i'm wondering if i'm having them just because i'm doing so well and wish for him to do well, or perhaps they're something more. they're EXTREMELY vivid. i'm living in the town i lived in right after i left him, and maybe they're hashing up the memories. i always felt so guilty for leaving, but i was dying and contemplating suicide for the only time in my entire life. anyone have any ideas about this?

thats been happening to me as well....very vivid dreams about my ex and then i wake up and feel all weird for a little while.
infact it was so weird b/c i had not dreamed of him for a while after we broke up..then one night i dreamed that he was living in a new apart with his new gf and in the dream i was looking for him. a week later we spoke and he informed me that he had just moved into a new apart with his girl.

then a while went by and i hadnt dreamed of him nor spoke to him. then i began dreaming that he was trying to get me back and trying to be together again. not long after that his mother called and said that he talks about me all the time and that he wishes i would call him.....

i have no idea what this means, but i have been dreaming about him again lately.

and i did hear from a "dream expert" once on tv that when we dream of someone we used to be in love with it means that we are longing for a closeness in our life that we are lacking

well, you know, we were such good friends, and i had to shut off an entire portion of my life just to survive. i'm much happier and more stable now, and my relationship with my family, my husband and my child is so close and so wonderful. there's no yearning to go back to him in my dreams, just a simple friendship and reacquaintance with a friend i've missed. i guess what i'm really wanting is closure to an extremely harrowing and painful history.

what i think is different is that he's open to it now. before, when i tried to make some sort of contact, i sensed tensions and discomfort, and i didn't want that. he barely survived his ordeal, and was rebuilding with a beautiful, supportive wife. but my dreams were so persistant that i had to try again. and i think i may be able to have the sort of friendship with him someday that my husband has with his ex-wife. i've always envied their ability to get along. they were just kids when they were married, ans still kids when they split, just like som and i.

and the funny thing is, today i checked my horoscope, which i rarely do, and it told me that it was the time for an emotional chat with a close friend. perhaps the stars are aligning.

My ex husband and I do not speak. Our relationship was soooo screwed up! I was just a kid and he well he was just an ass. I would love to have closure with him but I don't think it is going to happen.
I am glad that you think you can have a friendship with yours, that is great and probably healthy.
I wish you the best of luck!!!!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take
but by the moments that take our breath away.

well, at any rate, i feel like i made an important step, i'm feeling a little more myself. whether he responds any more or not, i've done what i needed to do, i think.
