Dream about searching... help me out!

So my girlfriend recently broke up with me. Last night, I had a dream that I went into a building for a routine dental check-up, and I ended up trying to look for my girlfriend in the building. I kept seeing people get with their significant others and ask to marry. Seeing this made me feel impatient. I had to go through yucky and dingy rooms to find my girlfriend, and was getting very discouraged. I finally got to a clean room, and I knew that I had found her, but I still couldn't see her. Then I woke up. Does this dream mean anything? Thanks!

not sure if I can help at all as the meaning of any dream comes from inside the dreamer, not from the interpreter. But here is at least a thought.

Just imagine all parts of the dream are you, like images in a mirror you're looking at, trying to check who you are and what the hell brought you here ... like your thoughts, wishes, hopes, and day dreams were a story where you are the strange stranger who is the main character yet also create all those other roles, including the dentist, the couples, and the missing girlfriend.

I believe that whatever we experience, in the end it's to re-connect us with our own deeper source inside ... and now your dream reminds me of it. It's like in the end of the story you found a place of peace, letting go, and coming to your own. You feel it even if she's not here, and maybe it does not really matter.

So, relax and be here, and take a deep breath ... and just one step after the other is good enough.

 

I think this dream represents your grief from the loss of your girlfriend .That is why you never find her in your dream . If there is not a chance of you getting back together you need to grieve for a bit and then go on . It wasn't meant to be .You will find the right girl for you and find that this was a learning experience ,something you had to go through to further progress .

Perhaps it means you're frightened of being alone.
A good way to get over a girl is to turn on some music, lay on your bed and try to think all the way from the beginning of the relationship to the end, all the good and bad times. Then tell yourself that life is to short to mourn over a girl, and that you'll always have the memories that you made with her. Never live in the past.
