I never said i chose a best method, did i ? All of this is just going to turn into an even bigger argument over which way is better. I do believe you made a thread in hopes to stop all the bickering that's been going on did you not? Honestly this is all sillyness. I can't wait til this forum gets back to normal and becomes interesting & peaceful once again.

It's not hard at all. Many people on here have backcombed dreads that are older than 1 year. Or have their dreads fallen off from all the damage backcombing does? Take a look at there photos if you really wanna compare.
Just cause you think it, dont make it fact.

Ok, i'll try to put our conversation in a very simple format so maybe you can understand my point

Ok, so here I think (correct me if I'm wrong) your saying that it is hard for you to compare mature (more than a year old) backcombed dreads to natural, because most people with backcombed dreads dont have them long enough?

Ok, here, I am pretty much letting you know that if you would like to compare the 2, that there are many people with mature backcombed dreads here that you could look and compare.

So if your agreeing with me that there are actually many people on here with mature backcombed dreads, then why is it so hard to compare the 2 different methods with mature dreadlocks as you stated in the first post?

What I was saying was that many people who backcomb, maybe not on here but the ones I know in real life, all cut within a year. I havent been on here long enough to make a fair judgement.

I believe that those who have mature backcombed dreads can easily be spotted and compared to people who have mature natural dreads. This seems to be where our disagreement occurs.

 

Many many many folks that have backcombed keep their dreads. It is just another method to achieve the same goal. Hell maybe natural folks keep theirs longer cause it just takes them that damn long to even have a headful to begin with. Years and years and years from the what I have seen so far. This shit of "you can have natural locks in weeks, just go on a camping trip" is well...bull. I am going on this strictly from what I have seem by members on here actually posting pics of their time lines. I have heard just about every lame excuse to why folks chose backcombing, right down to the type of music they listen to. Its all STUPID!!!!!! Why do we feel we even have to defend the method we chose because it is not the one someone else chose?????? No method is any better than the other in my opinion. The majority of my locks (cept the skinny ones, little bitches) are already mature, and why I chose the backcomb method. Does that really make me any less of a dreadie than anyone who chose a different method???? NOPE
I did backcomb and I plan on keeping mine til Im in the ground. I cant wait til I am at 2 years just so I can "na na na na" to the eagle!

 

If I saw SE and didn't know his method of choice, I would of guessed he backcombed because they are all round, and perfect, and without frizzes. His does not look like the natural dreads like Natural Philosophy posted.

 

Also I think the folks who do cut, Im sure has more to do with personality and lack of commitment, instead of method.
