Dreads & Pot

This is not meant to offend anyone but to try and clarify a stereotype

Does everyone with dreads smoke pot ?

Personnally everyone I have ever met who has, does.

Well, just like any stereotype babe, it's totally not fair and untrue. Not all homeless people are crack heads, not all strippers are whores, not all Mexicans are immigrants - good grief, get a grip kiddo!! No "group" in it's entirety is all inclusive/exclusive, etc.

sometimes i do like if i'm on vacation and i feel the urge or at other times under the same, if i feel the urge, like 1 time every month or two. also my xboyfriend from mexico who has dreads (mexian guys with dreads are frickin hot) doesn't smoke weed at all but tells me random people on the street approach him all the time and ask him how much he sells his weed for lol

 

Hey...I have an ex mexican boyfriend with dreads too that everybody harrased about pot....haha...and we live close by dont we? Wouldnt that be a trip if we dated the same guy? weird.

 

i used too.. about 5 years ago, but got bored of it frankly

 

after taking a 2 year break, i'm back to smoking on occasion. was a daily habitual smoker, but then had jobs where i could be drug tested, so i cut it out until the time felt right to start up again.

so the other day, my lover goes to do a massage, and instead of paying him, the guy (who grows his own, he has a medical card) just hands him a big fat bag of some stinky fucking shit... THE best weed i've ever smoked. so we've smoked two nights in a row. certainly not an every night thing, but an occasional thing.

it feels good to be back!

 

that being said... i think it's the fairly rare person on this whole site that doesn't hit up ye olde peace pipe.

 

I smoke, everyone with dreads here (i mean in my country) smoke. I started my dreads because i hate combing and because i smoke!

 

I smoke,but their were times when i didnt with and w/o dreads .

 

The only reason i would have to smoke herb would be to meditate, but i no longer need this. I used to smoke it to get "high" when i was younger, but not anymore. The reason for this unfortunate stereotype is the beliefs of the ras-fari, which is unfortunate as many use this as there excuse to smoke weed. With understand they do not smoke it to get high they smoke it as a way of creating peace within themselves which helps them meditate - just like Buddhists do with incense. I have many Rastfari friends, but only one Rasta-fari mentor, may he RIP and none of them smoke the herb, because the old rasta's belief that once they have reached that pinnacle point where they feel they cannot connect anymore to Jah until the day of there passing, they stop using it.

Anyway the simple answer. Is no not all dreadheads smoke pot.

this thread however...you wont get much accomplished with such a depthless approach. it's more about reasons.

for me, some keywords/phrases are meditation, expansion of consciousness, deep concentration, thinking...also good times, peacefulness, relaxation.

 

i smoke every day.

but the thing with stereotypes is that they stem from the truth...they maybe greatly exaggerated, and we might not want to admit their truthfulness because it makes us feel bad about ourselves as a society, but its there, and its you who choses whether or not to be offended by it.

but by the look of the vote, this stereotype is not greatly exaggerated.

 

i said i smoke because i do..on rare occassions i never buy it i nwver have it i go months without smoking but if u hand me some i'll smoke it
i dont care if i smoke or not it means nothing to me but i do enjoy it on those rare occassions

i toke every so often. i rarely buy, probably about once or twice a year i do. and toke every 4 months or less. i dont really have dreads as such yet tho, altho they are makin steady progress with no effort on my part at all.....perfect!

 

i smoke marijuana only.
it just happened that around the time i got dreads i started to smoke.
just good timing, nothing else.
all of my friends are pot heads and i hang out with all the time when they smoke and it looked like a lot of fun, so i had to try it.
it was just like, "u know, every time they are high they have a blast, so i may as well give it a shot."
and what do u know, it really is fun.

 

I smoke almost every day. I grow my dreads spiritually and I smoke my herb spiritually and recreationaly.


I don't need it, but as an artist I use it to aid in inspiration.
