I've had my dreads for about 6 weeks now. I got them via backcombing. A lot of them have "bends" in them as you'll note in this first picture: http://i36.tinypic.com/96jk21.jpg I don't really care that there are bends in them, but when the hair is pulled straight you can see that the bends pop out and that hair isn't knotted as all. http://i35.tinypic.com/2aihovp.jpg I've left them for a couple weeks, but it just gets worse and worse. I have some dreads that are completely perfect, and other dreads that are solid for two inches at the top, two inches at the bottom, and the 4 inches in the middle are completely straight hair. What do I do? More pictures: http://i37.tinypic.com/25hzkmr.jpg http://i37.tinypic.com/11imqv4.jpg Yes, I do have elastics on my roots and tips, no I don't use wax or any of that other stuff.
It's normal. Everybody's hair does that its just coz your hair hasnt locked up properly yet and won't do for a while. Be patient and they'll sort themselves out. What's your washing routine?
haha...no need to worry. this is all very normal and actually a good thing. This is a sign that your hair has naturally started to lock. In fact I think it's important that you only rip them apart or seperate them when they grow together. You hair is looking great for 6 weeks. Whatever you do don't use rubber bands or wax.
wow i have the same exact problem its knotted at the tip an root but in the middle its staight hair i dont c how thats gonna lock
