I am wondering if dreadlocks make your head feel gross. I think they are totally beautiful, but I REALLY like having a clean head!! I've read that you can still wash with dreads, and that your head will chilll out on oil production if you only wash it once a week. But does your head feel gross and greasy? Does it itch? Do you think they would look ok on me (photo attached, and you can see my fatness, that is me and my bf) And finally, once you have dreads, it ever possible to uncomb them or do you have to chop off all your hair?

I've had my dreads for over 2 years now and my head doesn't itch more than normal and my head doesn't feel gross. If it starts feeling like it needs a washing, I wash it...plain and simple. If you don't want dreads, I've heard stories of people using a shitload of conditioner and combing them out for hours. So I guess it's possible to do it that way.

its possible to get them out after you have had them for a little while. Like my first set, i had for 2 weeks, but the back was all messed up and annoyed me so i washed my air with conditioner like 4 or 5 times, then my mom say with me for 2 1/2 hours combing my hair out. it worked eventually. but that was only after 2 weeks, so idk what you would do after like a month or 8 months or a couple years.
as for the scalp feeling gross, it doesnt. It gets a little itchy sometimes, but it never feels greasy, and i had a greasy scalp befor i had dreads. i say u get them, and see if u like them for a week and if u do keep em in, if u dont comb em out. i hope u like them tho, because i dont think u would look bad.
    peace~

Personally, I think dreads are the easiest hair "style" to have. Your hair always looks unique, b/c no two dreadheads look exactly alike. I like them way more than having a 'do thats the same as everyone else. That's so boring! Plus, dreads are a journey, a hair adventure. You never know what to expect from them, how they form and change. Plus, putting wraps and beads in your dreads are a fun way to decorate them!

    Peace & Love

I know!! I think they are SO fun, neat, unique, and beautiful.
The problem is that I have sort of pretty hair when its styled, (sorry, that sounds stuck up...I just like my hair! I hate the rest of me, don't worry) and I don't know if I want to get rid of the shiny, dark hair and get dreads. But I am gonna think this through.

They are beautiful but they won't look conventionally beautiful straight away. If you're used to have shiny, clean hair then dreads will drive you crazy for a while. You have to be patient. I had long, dark shiny hair all the way down my back and I dreaded it. I cried at first, I honestly did because I was losing this long pretty hair but then I realised this was the first step in a journey to beautiful hair but beautiful in a different way
