Yes, my opinion. They're nasty. I'm sure there is so much to know about nasty, matted together hair. How deep can it get? Nevermind....spare me your 'I'm a dreddie and they're not nasty they're clean' speech. I've heard it before. Somehow, after all that preaching....I still think they're nasty.

The same reason you did....to give an opinion on a posted picture.

Dreadlocks are just as clean as any other hairstyle...at least we aren't filling our hair with chemical crap like hairspray and gel.

BTW, I think you'd look quite good with dreads...you should try them sometime. You'd find out they weren't nasty like you seem to think they are. You should open your mind a little.

I don't put any hairgel crap in my hair....I just color it from time to time.

I've read about them as I wanted them when I was younger....they're too high maintenance. I know plenty of people who've had them....they're nasty. Nothing you say will change my mind.

Actually they aren't high maintenance at all...you wash them once a week or so...and you roll them in your hands when you're bored sometimes. I don't know how you can call THAT high maintenance.

And how are they nasty? I mean you've stated that they are like three times...why do you think they're nasty?

Coloring damages your hair and strips your hair of natural oils. That's kinda nasty too.

Nah. My hair is healthy....I take care of it.

How are they nasty? Well, hair gets naturally smelly after 2 or three days of not washing it....I can imagine a weeks worth of filth. The oils in your hand are gross too....imagine what you touch daily. I like to feel clean and so does my hair. Plus, I read that if you don't rinse them out well enough they can get mildew....I like the idea of my hair being mildew free with a nice cleansing shampoo.

Washing your hair too often rapes your hair of natural oils that make your hair healthy. Once a week is how much I washed my hair before I had dreads too...and my hair certainly doesn't stink then...and it only smells like tea tree oil and incense now :-/

The only way your hair will get mildewy is if you let it stay wet too long, especially if you have it constricted in some way (like tied with yarn or hemp or other fabric).

There is nothing nasty about dreads...unless you don't wash them and roll around in dirt and bugs...

Dreads are also a personal journey that lead people on a more enlightened way of life. It teaches you patience, humor, and humility. It is not just a hair style to a lot of us, it is who we are, what we stand for, and it keeps us grounded and down to earth.

It's a little offensive when you say dreads are nasty...because you are inferring that who we are is nasty too...At least, in my opinion.

Well, dreads are a personal journey I'll certainly not go on.

They are nasty. The people aren't necessarily nasty. But, dreads are nasty. It's an opinion, I'm not forcing it on you. If I actually cared about offending anyone or hurting someones feelings, I wouldn't post a comment.

But your reasons for them being "nasty" have really no basis. If you've never had them or TRIED them, how could you know?

I KNOW PEOPLE WITH THEM. I guess you missed where I said that....

    My reasons have basis.
DREADLOCKS ARE NASTY. That is my opinion. Stop trying to tell me otherwise.
    I'm finished with this discussion.

 God forbid my opinion change.

I've never found dreads too appealing.
    They're not for me.

    Dreads don't change the person....
But, if you're going to hate me, hate me for something other than my opinion of dreads, thanks.
