I wanted to get dreadlocks the natural way, so for about half a year I neglected my hair. Now all the hair is knotted together and it does not even look like dreadlocks. It is one big mess of dirty hair. What to do to change this? Obviously I do not want to cut my hair. Thanks for your help.
bird! ya aint even ripped them to keep them seperated????? ummmmmmmm let it grow n have a beaver tail??? i dunno what to suggest since you took the shave thing out of the equation..
Well, actually I did rip them to keep them seperated. But it still looks like a mess and there is definately more rippin' to do.
then i wouldnt worry too much ...keepum seperated ,,, they will do there own thing...n be bootiful in the end.... mine are still a tad messy and they were back combed originally...n hhb ... his are natural n definitely crazy n messy but i can see them changing slowly but surely over time n getting prettier...
Thanks for the thumbs up. I was not aware that you and Billy were also into dreadlocking and all that. Everything fine up in the country?
its been a lil rough sailing but the seas are calmin a bit... n yup on the dreads,, mine been goin on 10 months almost n his bout 4.. but his is so long that it knotted reallllly easy n messily
Actually, a good friend of mine came over today and he told me he totally digged (dug?) my hair. So maybe it is not that bad after all, although I have some work to do on my golden locks.
just give it time.......6 months ain't shit.....they'll work themselves out, just keep seperating if you don't want huge congos
this is why i bailed out of the natural way, i knew i'd just end up with a gross rat nest clump on the back of me head. I'd suggest lots of ripping and DEFINITELY palm rolling, that'll keep 'em tight and to themselves, and avoid clumping and congoing.
I do not like the palm-rolling, as some people suggested. The natural way is the way it should be for me. Otherwise it looks too 'slick'. Since many people requested photographs I will post some soon.
ah well atleast you finally figured it out that i am female.. aint growin up much i see though... what a shame!
